As the title suggests, you can go out now and buy the bike you have always wanted. What would it be?

Only one bike?
Hmm. Tough one. Not sure there is one bike I'd have above all else, if money was no object.0 -
If money was no object then I'd have more than one bike.
Silly question.0 -
Do you get to keep your current bikes too?0

i did think the other day that a Cannondale Jeckyl ultimate ( if i've remembered right) might just fit the bill.I'm going to blow the bank on a new build ( within reason ) NOW DONE!!

Just some better parts on my Zaskar.0

Currently? That'd be an enigma ego with some nice 'light but not breakable' kit. Or some other titanium hardtail. Expect it to have changed if you ask me in a fortnight. Maybe that new santa cruz trc, that's rather nice.....
Also, yeehaa, just noticed the new signature, fantastic, made me smile- couldn't you be done for false advertising or something?Rock Lobster 853, Trek 1200 and a very old, tired and loved Apollo Javelin.0 -

A steel hardtail DH rig (.243 FR or DH but I've not looked into it that much) built with the highest end kit I could find. Reason I haven't done this a lack of money and ability to get to somewhere with uplift for a season
Oh and if money no object I'd get some coil u-turn Lyriks for the STP.-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford? :roll:0 -
What what? Blatantly keep my bike and spend this very large sum of money on riding trips around Europe. Bikes are over-rated, the destination is where it's at 8)0

Mmm
not sure what to add to mine.

You don't have a bike with a basket on the front and barbie stickers, that's where you should invest to help develop the spread of riding styles in your.................... WTF? Do you really need 5 spare white rims??0

Custom built AM bike like the new Yeti SB66 in carbon with BOS forks, fox kashima rear shock and X0 drivetrain. Shimano XTR trail brakes and Easton Haven wheels and finishing kit.0

Well my Fuel is pretty well perfect for me, so I'd probably buy a Pinarello Dogma with Di2, Lightweights, SRM etc.0

In all seriousness, I couldnt live with one bike as I hate compromise, so id have a fleet of high end boutique bikes for every genre with the highest specs available (well, money is no object) and a house to store them in, in Whistler. Oh, and I'd have a Reverb on my dream build above ^^^ too0

I have a good bike now. Buying something more expensive isn't going to improve my skills or be more durable.
If you have the worlds best derailleur and cassette they'll wear out faster than some cheap rubbish as they're designed with weight in mind for the pro racer.
I might stick another Rohloff on my MTB again though. I moved it onto the commuter and replaced it with an Alfine 11 which seems to be holding up.0 -
without wanting to sound like harry enfields [yamyam mode] considerably richer than yow [/yamyam].
I just can't bring myself to blow silly money on toys, I much prefer to get myself a bargain.0
