Hushovd's bike needs a Fizik saddle with a yellow stripe to match.

Is there a direct link between cycling and varicose veins?
Not sure, but I remember Sean Yates had horrendous varicose veins. Had to have an op to remove them when he retired. Gruesome pic here if you're that way inclined.

"The Garmin boys at the front of the bunch are not having a good time, David Millar seems to be very cold."

Poor Millar - he doesn't like the cold and he's allergic to the heat.

Break down to 8 minutes, HTC helping with the chase

I agree, he's like the alan partridge of the cycling world.

On the road at the mo my hero Hoogerland leads the polka dot comp.

I missed the original incident but it looks to me like the moto was driving in a dead straight line as close to the edge of the road as he could possibly be when the peloton moved over towards him. I think it's unfair to pin all the blame on him, and an over-reaction to sack him immediately over the race radio

Just going back to varicose veins, I have one vein in each calf that show up during/after big efforts and also a permanent blue looking one on my right ankle. So they might be cycling related? My uncle played rugby professionally and his legs look like the UK motorway network.

Maybe that's what happens when you're a Scotsman born in Malta and brought up in Hong Kong!

There's a group about 1'00 off the back of the peloton which includes Chavanel.

Which group is Contador out the back of, the front peloton or the group behind?

Yes, looks like he might be. The wet conditions may help him if they decide not to push the pace so much in the latter stages.

Very professional. Harmon on Eurosport helping the noobs identify Europcar's Cyril Gautier by pointing out the "little Frenchman's" "sticky-out elf ears."

It's like something out of Harry Potter. Big George stores the remains of Lance's reputation within his varicose veins.

I think Cav may have been dropped but then got back on. But bear in mind that this is going by the commentary of Ligget and Sherwen, which isn't exactly accurate all the time.
