Helmet took a lot of impact... hope he is ok... If he wasnt wearing a helmet that would have been dodgy.... Lotto riders dont look happy.

good van de walle is back chasing... Lots of rash. He seems to be almost back on, so I guess he was up fairly promptly... Already has a bandage on his arm too

van de walle crashed on the first road stage in 2009 as well. Had to retire overnight on that occasion.

This years tour of Poland looks to be a bit more uptempo than before!

Van de velde on the front - suggests maybe he wont be going 100% for the GC.

Cav seems to lack motivation when wins aren't concerned.
More interesting than the old system, but it may impact the breakaways.

Ale-Jet did even worse. Not sure I'd read a whole amount into it. For a straight run-in with a slight rise, the teams did make a meal of the lead-outs.

What was going on at the front just then? They were going so slow the riders at the back almost stopped!

Think they had had the sprint and they all wanted a quick rest before starting the chase again.

Interesting route this year, by the look of it. Up skyscrapers, along the roofs of tunnels, all sorts. Now we know where Zomegnan went after RCS sacked him.

Wiggins' number is 111. Umpire shephard will be hopping in his grave.

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.
