FFS, I almost picked Gavazzi for today. I'd got him twice so far in the race, once he was miles off then he was 7th. Third time, I came close but went for Freire.

My PTP rainbow jersey might be cursed

Gesink really can TT well enough for a GT. If he can maintain form for three weeks and not have any misfortunes then he has a great shot at podium. I'll be rooting for him.

I don't see why you should get DQ'd if someone pushes you - pretty ridiculous.

    Hi there.

Not ridiculous at all, I'm sure the rules are pretty clear here:

Point 1 - Taking your hands off the bars in a sprint, for whatever reason is frowned upon, also the leadout guy would have engaged reverse gear very quickly when he pushed Freire, and gone straight back into those starting their sprint behind. This was not a madison where the slowed rider drops safely into the well of the track.

Point 2 - Freire clearly gained an unfair advantage in the sprint from his teammate's action.

    Cheers, Andy

Surprisingly good TT from Tondo - thought he'd be miles off the pace. Probably too old at to develop into a 3-week tour contender though?

Oh I didn't see the Madison Sling and that's the reason they threw the Rule Book at him.

I thought like many, that leadout Luis had baulked Oscar and it was more a tap of appology.
That Luis meant to go to the side to get out of the way but couldn't and just freewheeled like every other Lead out rider does.
I didn't see any other drastic change in his speed.
That Oscar had to get up speed again on his own and his own strength pulled him in front to Win.
You (and those UCI Twats) obviously saw a different incident to the majority of us.

So you don't take your hands off the bars and try to fend off the other guy who is trying to put you in the Barriers, with the only safe part of your body. The Head and still get disqualified.

I've done enough Officiating in my time and found in most Jury rooms that a bumptious Bible Pusher can get out voted and I get Pissed off with UCI officials applying the letter of the rule book without an inkling of intetligence or experience.
