Useless info. The SA80 is an example of a Bullpup firearm.

Eke: they don't let me near rifles if they can help it, especially ones with live rounds

I have an eye problem which means I can't shoot right handed, and shooting left handed on the SA80/Cadet GP rifle isn't well advised unless you want second degree facial burns

Just stuck the heating on - just for an hour. You know by pressing the boost button. Downstairs only. Let's not go too mad.

When I was told about not being able to fire an SA80 left handed I had visions of a leftie trying and getting a clipful of spent cartridges smacking them in the face. Considering about 10% of the population are lefties, I consider that a major design flaw.

regulars in all arms of the forces consider it a major design flaw and even when the rifle was first issued it was considered a problem. Because of it I was prevented from joining the RAF. I simply have poor sight in my right eye and am actually more comfortable shooting left handed anyway.

There is a new GP rifle coming into play which has been designed for right and left handers. Just 5 years to late for me now as I'm considered too old to be joining as a regular.

Oh bugger, that was you then? I wizzed past someone on the right of traffic and heard a shout - assumed a car had got a bit close someone so took a look over my shoulder, saw all seemed well and carried on in pursuit of the RLJing Langster that was nearby. A moment after I did think the voice sounded familiar...
