It's a great workhorse, gets plenty of abuse but takes it in it's stride!
The XACD frames are meant to be grand, at the time I didn't have the confidence to give them my own specs and a good deal on this Litespeed came along.
Buying a frame from a guy the other side of the World from a guy who has a less than average grasp of the English language is a bit of a leap of faith... but I must admit that although the frame finish is a bit dull and boring compared to the finish you get on Litespeeds, Enigma etc, the XACD rides as well as anything else I've had - nimble up hill and handles like it's on rails downhill. It's a dead-ringer for some of the Sabbath September frames I've seen... The only downer was having to jet wash the frame to get rid of all the sand and crap they'd left in the frames vital areas (bb threads, headtube etc) before building it up. Otherwise, I can't fault it. You just can't go wrong with titanium.
I actually think there's probably only a couple of factories in the world producing bike frames and they just get different badges put on. No evidence for this of course.0 -
Tail end Charlie wrote:I just like the look of it. Combination of its age, colour etc. I just prefer older bikes. Don't take it personally if you have one of the tart's handbags I refer to !!
I just wondered, that's all. You can call them whatever you like, but I'm looking forward to seeing a pic of your winter bike soon....0 -
Ok, here it is. Fixie on an old Dawes frame.
And after combat with snow and ice

I suppose it is a 'man bag' in the sense that you could fit a man in it - does it double up as a tent when you take it off the bike..?0 -

Some of the "winter bikes" on this thread look like summer bikes with clip on mud guards0 -
Dude that bike is surely in breach of the European Convention of Human Rights. Article 3 includes the outlawing of 'stress positions'. That ^^^^ looks painful!0

That's a cool Winter Bike, didn't realise you could fit proper mudguards to a Pinarello0 -

My Orbea Aqua winter/commuter bike.
All sora drive train, wheels which flex more than the current breakdance world champion, Crud Mk 2 guards
Oh and I know the chain isn't in the smallest sprocket but I couldn't be bothered to go out in the cold to take a new picture

I hope you have not had it stolen because I saw a bike very much like yours in Croydon earlier today but it was minus the mudguards.
Both look brilliant bikes and I have just had my Roberts built with the same colour.hondated0
