It's odd: the Church of England is currently worried about their more conservative members defecting to Catholicism
They're worried about all of their priests going home, back to where thay always belonged, the one true church !!! Once the queen dies the church of england will be taken back into the fold, that's what was being discussed between the two germans, betty and benedict.0 -

Slightly off topic (or possibly on topic, depending on your pov):
If they're going to close Parliament Square *and* Lambeth Bridge (which is my normal backup) what's the best route home on Friday? Anything through the West End seems to be a zoo even when other roads aren't closed, and further South there be dragons...Pannier, 120rpm.0 -
The southern end of VB is only a short ride away, or are they closing that bit as well (runs straight past Lambeth Palace). Down over Blackfriars or Waterloo Bridge, then along round the back of the iMax, past Waterloo station. Round the back of the hotel that is in the middle of what used to be a roundabout at the southern end of Westminster B, then continue along over the eastern Lambeth Bridge roundabout, and the next stop is Vauxhall.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! That's my normal backup route (albeit back over lambeth Bridge). Unfortunately they're closing the bit of road between Westminster Bridge and Lambeth Bridge too.
If they were going to let him close down Central London, why couldn't they do it on a Sunday?Pannier, 120rpm.0 -

Well that would be daft, wouldn't it? No Catholics would turn out on a Sunday to see his Popiness as they'd all be in church.Never be tempted to race against a Barclays Cycle Hire bike. If you do, there are only two outcomes. Of these, by far the better is that you now have the scalp of a Boris Bike.0 -

Hmmm. CS7 to Clapham, then bear right along the north side of the Common, down through Wandsworth, and continue through Putney on the Upper Richmond Road. I'm going to have to use CS7 as well or I'll be adding several miles to my route.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

It's going to be a nightmare round here on Sunday (live just outside the exclusion zone). Though it's the club hill climb in the morning & getting round by bike may be the only viable option anyway. There is no secret ingredient...0
