Did a 100miles flat out.But i don't know why as i'm not training for anything now, just can't help pummeling myself for that all over knackerd feeling which makes the first 10mins sat down with a cup of tea, heaven.
  • A 27-mile loop with 2,500ft of climbing including Peak Hill in Sidmouth. Good to get the circulation going before work.

Been off the bike for 2 weeks due to holiday so went for a gentle ride tonight in the dark to test my lights and to prepare the legs for some hurting tomorrow.
  • Did a 60miler - 4 & 1/4hrs, mainly all climbing including The Black & Betws mtns - legs a bit tight tonight. Can't imagine that the Bristol Belter next weekend will be anywhere near as tough :)
All my life I've wanted to be someone; I guess I should have been more specific.
  • Took my 2 week old Ribble evo pro on a 60 mile loop to Jubilee Tower in the Trough of Bowland, a first for us both.

Rode in the TLI National 10 mile TT champs (Sporting course.)

I was RUBBISH! Power down 10% on my last TT.

We all got battered by a 15 year old any way!
  • Attempted a 2 hour Z2/Z3 ride today,on a bowl of cornflakes 6 hours prior (too busy travelling back to uni to eat). This didn't go well and turned into a 2 hour barely Z2 pootle
  • Got a first good run at one of the local TT courses, a very hilly 12 miler. Baseline time set at 38min on the dot. Bit disappointing, I was hoping for 35, my excuse is I did it on a steel frame single speed. It takes me too long to recover from a hard climb.

Will be interesting to see how much faster (if at all) I can do it on the new bike, when it comes.
  • Not been near my bike for 10 days due to work :( . During tomorrow's ride I will try and remember that pain is just weakness leaving the body.
  • 35 fast miles yesterday - 6aam - 7.40 am. Freeessshhhhh.

35 fast miles this evening - fressshhhh but not as cold as yesterday morning.

    Lucky git.

1.5 hour of a mix of tempo and sprint intervals in freezing cold England, frozen feet for the 1st time this autumn
  • Yesterday's interval session;

6 x 30 secs max effort with 30 secs rest

    Hill work 7 mins

6 x 20 secs max effort with 20 secs rest

    Hill work

6 x 15 secs max effort with 15 secs rest

10 minute easy to warm down

    Average HR 83% max 92%

Today I didn't train as I forgot to take my bib shorts to work, didn't realise until I had stripped and was stood in just my socks and HR monitor strap.

Full on detaining at the moment. Nearly through the first month, but it's been tough!
If I get on the turbo now I'll still be on it in 6 months and I can't face that at the moment.
    Weekend riding only for me.

Decided to incorporate some Zone 4 and 5 intervals into a 2 hour ride around Richmond Park. Of the 4 times I took Broomfield hill, 2 were clear runs, and on both occasions I recorded my two fastest descents down there. I'm desperately trying to work on fast cornering, so I was chuffed about that. GP4000S' tyres just ooze confidence!

As for the intervals, I mixed them up between 3-5 minutes at VO2max, and did a few threshold ones. All in all I spent 28:54 at VO2max, and 23:59 minutes at threshold; over 50 minutes above 82% MHR, so I'm happy. A powermeter would just be so much easier!

Good 80km solo this afternoon with 2 big climbs in just under 3 hours.

That southerly wind was picking up on the way home and as dusk set in the temps dropped dramatically.

Glad to be home, showered and ready for Sunday dinner.
