4x Sweetspot on the winter bike.

I did my intervals on the Tatton triathlon course.

I was puzzled at the amount of people I overtook who had the full hit, e.g. one bloke was on a Cervelo P3, special bottle holders, deep rims, the works, must have been doing about 19-20mph :? There were a lot of them...

Anyhoo, fair play to them for getting out there and doing it. Some nice bling on show. Again, fair play! Got a couple of surprised looks when I went past on my be-mudguarded racer...
  • Cycled over the Blackdowns to a cyclo-cross race. Got my arse kicked big time for 1 hour. My excuse was I was on a mountain bike. Then it was crawling my ass back through the hills again home. 4 hours. Quality training though.
    I climb faster then you.

There is a certain peverse pleasure in overtaking tryathletes....
few weeks back overook a few around Siddington (road signage with cycling event on).. I thought they were on a warming up 'mission'.. only dawned on me later that they were actually racing.
before anyone gets on hi horse... I freely admit I'm too wimpish for swimming and running so as said, fair play to them.
  • 62 miles down into Somerset. Cake stop in Cheddar and climbed up the gorge and back to Bristol. 3000ft of up. Nice ride, good bunch of lads out today and felt fresh and strong.

Far better to have stayed indoors - I got crapped on by a bird while out yesterday! All down my arm and top tube. (I'd like to think it was a buzzard (a higher class of poo) but I suspect it was a lowly pigeon. ) Nice ride tho, out to Kingsley/Delamere.

I got crapped on by a bird last night too - but I go to a higher class place, where they use a glass-topped coffee table - all the thrills but without the spills.

Probably the guy I seen earlier in the year doing 17mph on a full carbon bike with all aero kit in aero position and deep section wheels.

2 x 20 on the turbo last night for me, pretty much on the limit and nearly putting myself in A&E

  • A fast 35 miler today with average traveling speed at 18.8 mph for entire ride. Gunned it today and leaves me pondering if I can get my sub 24 min TT next year. I think I can, but needs work. :?:
