But that's a sh*t small race, so it doesn't count.

So, what is Tooth Fairys explanation this time? Because the crash simply can´t be his fault, can it?

I think I'd rather crash in the Tour than win in Austria (assuming I was not hurt). Good result for Ben Swift though.

An what about the total idiot that let their dog escape into the peloton bringing down Millar and others. I hope the people beside them really gave that person a good shouting at.

And quite odd with the final crash as the AG2R rider's bike tangles with Farrar's bike and is dragged several metres down the road:

It has has happened before. Can´t understand why people bring their dogs to watch cycling.

did petacchi cause the last crash with the swing from one side of the road to the other?? if that had been cav no doubt everyone would have blamed him for it.

    No.

Anyway, Bertie has a bruised knee thanks to it.

Difficult to tell, but it looked like someone bouncing off the barriers which started it.

Renshaw needs to see the video I'd suggest.

Cavendish just kept going straight leaning on someone. And he was on the outside, so lord knows what was going on.

Never seen so many persons watching a bike race! Milions! Made me proud to do this job! Once again!

    Kreuziger!

And his Sidis after the crash:

Not sure why he is posting given they are hardly damaged.

And on a random that I saw from Sean Yates
Halfway through my morning ride. Decided that the world of twitter is something I can def do without. It was a very brief. Live and learn.

The Daily Mail says the dog was ok - but something should really be done about these lycra louts.

Sounds like Leipheimer was caught up in the crash - he just tweeted that he's had some X-rays done.

Edit: It was his wrist - not broken though, so he's still in the race.

Anyone know if Paulobets was in Belgium?

Really? Isn't that the same injury that took him out last year?

Yes. They're practising for the injury that's going to take LA out.

Poor Cav. Two years ago we were all thrilled to bits that we had a winning Brit at the Tour, and now he's being jeered by British Sky fans. But he coped like a gentleman with them.

It was probably Greg Henderson trying to dissuade him from moving teams

    We?

The "Sky" fans sound like americans, saying that he "sucked", but not a good start for Bingo, 35 points down on the points competition...

These unfulfilled, bitter cycling 'fans' seem to feel more secure on the bandwagon... it's strange.

You sure that is the right way round. They practice to take AC out. (the shack were all around him)

weird riding by cav there... not clear why he came off his line so much in the corner except to dislodge the lampre rider...

hmmmm not going to well for the lad

his post race demeanor was 'its my own fault" but also a degree of control not to blurt out anything stupid that he would regret...

so some positives in there I guess

not going to be his year... one stage win would be nice

It's just you. The dog that caused the crash was a little spaniel type thing.

They were probably bigger than him.

He'll surely dismiss them as derganged Hushovd fans in a cunning disguise

Perhaps it's karma for the two-fingered salutes, deriding those dreaded Internet Forum People (the very salt of the earth who keep it spinning at just the right speed) and taking Haussler's wheel from under him in the TdS. I couldn't believe that in ITV's pre-race interview he claimed it was still partly Haussler's fault  Even the arrogant w@nkers driving black Audis don't do that to me and blame me for it!

    Thanks for the links FF.

At the end of that clip, Vino looks somewhat relieved to escort this precious leader to the line in one piece. It is going to be a tense first week for him methinks!
