I haven't heard anyone use the phrase "prannet" since I was in my teens

Mine was "Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi. I hate Bon Jovi (and all hair metal). I hate that song. But...

It's just a hill. Get over it.

My eldest daughter is into a band called Five Seconds of Summer - don't ask me, they seem to basically be a pop/punk cover band....but it could be worse. She was playing one of theirs last night & it was annoying the cr@p out of me why it was so (terrible and yet somehow) familiar. Anyway, figured it out eventually, so have had Duran Duran's Hungry Like The Wolf stuck in my head all day..............

    here's the evidence:

Last thing on Radio 2 as I left this morning: St Elmo's Fire (Man in Motion) - John Parr.

'I can see a new horizon underneath the blazing sky
I'll be where the eagle's flying higher and higher
Gonna be your man in motion
All I need is a pair of wheels
Take me where the future's lying St. Elmo's fire'

    Trapped - Colonel Abrams.

Started singing it in my head when getting boxed in by nodders and traffic this morning, now can't get rid. Obviously this will be a complete mystery to the younger members of the forum.

Some new song by Morrisey. Songs not bad unfortunately, problem is Morrisey is an insufferable twunt so the song annoys me and is now stuck in my head.

I've had Faith by George Michael in my head for days. I don't even like the song.

I bloody love this though from Reeves and Mortimer, which is what i think of when i hear that song.

I'm trying to think of another example of the name of the band, song and album all being the same. May need to Google this.

In a similar vein, but a bit earlier, Mental As Anything's "Live It Up". Can't help but turn the volume up for that one. The kids think I'm weird - obviously - because it's not Jay-West or Eezy Beezy or whoever.
    FCN 2-4.

"What happens when the hammer goes down, kids?"
    "It stays down, Daddy."
    "Exactly."
