These guys work together and I think that pretty much all of them realize that you need to get along with teammates and non teammates alike. Just like having a job, you need to learn that by helping others your job will be easier. What comes around, goes around.
You never know when you might need your fellow workers help with something. You also never know who just might be your NEW boss in the future. Hopefully not the guy you've carried a grudge against for a few years, but you never know.

I disagree Dennis...there are 10 to 15 people on here who are pretty much singing from the same hymn sheet on the Lance topic...AFX, Andyp, Blaze, Iainf, Kleber,..all of them being the conductors of such Armstrong threads come July. There are clearly defined groups on the pro race forum who agree on most things.

Mmm, we're so obsessed, that's why we continually bring Lance Armstrong up in topics that have nothing to do him.

    Oh... wait...

dennis has it wrong though there is a clear split in the forum because of Armstrong, usually over omerta, what races are most important in a season and so on.

I thought it was too good to be true. All quiet on the Texas front. Peace and tranquillo.
Then along comes the one poster who only has a single hymn sheet to sing from. :P

There's splits in the forum over everything. It would be pretty boring if everyone agreed on everything.

    Isn't that how juries work?

    Absolutely. Key word "juries".

Bunch of people sit in a room together, argue amongst themselves, then make their mind up. Bunch of people sit on the internet (not literally), argue amongst themselves, then make their mind up. Apart from the stakes being a little higher in a jury room, I don't see much difference.

In a jury room all twelve people must agree. On this forum, even finding two or three to
think alike is a major challenge. One thing I did learn while being on a jury was that the only decision you have to make is whether he / she BROKE the law. Not whether the law is a just or unjust law. Not whether you feel sympathy for them or not. Did they break the law - period? End of jury deliberations.

My two or three statement was made sort of tongue in cheek, although if we were talking tires or wheels there might be a bit of truth in it. As for the racing / doping discussions, yes, two separate groups, neither of which has lost or gained a member or convert from the other side. Or so it would seem. We're all doing a p*ss poor job in that respect.

I used to think Lance was clean. I've been swung to the other side via this forum.

I'm going to give LA, and everyone else, who's had some mud slung at them, the benefit
of the doubt. Simply because, like the anti brigade, I have a mind and can think what I want. It's the way my mind works(or doesn't, according to some). My feeling is that people are basically good and I've known quite a few and haven't been really disappointed(for lack of a better word) by very many. Thinking everyone is bad is way too depressing.:wink:

    +1

I read 'From lance to Landis' thanks to the recommendation of someone on this forum (can't remember who, but thank you) and it swung it for me!

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

If I might be so bold Dennis, I reckon most people on the forum don't believe all athletes who dope are bad people.

A statement of 'faith' if ever I saw one, and as they say "Faith is believing what you know isn't true".

Yes, you can 'think' what you want. You can 'think' sky fairies exist if you want to. After all, relativism is all the rage in the USA. Just don't confuse such 'thinking' with rationality....

Well, the impressions that I get from the "anti brigade" are that if you dope, you are evil
and must be pursued to the ends of the earth. Words like "banned forever" and "hounded
to the end" have been used. If you get my point?
I've known people who have gone to prison for drug dealing, gambling, that sort of thing, and guess what, they are still my friends and who knows, they may disappoint me again in life but I refuse to obsess about it. I've forgiven everything that forgiveness will allow.

As long as we're talking faith. You seem to have a lot of faith in yourself that you know who I am, but I'm betting that's not true. I'm sure you think you know me but I wouldn't call that rationality on your part.:wink:
In any case call it faith or irrational thinking on my part but I sort of like the idea that not all people are inherently bad because they do something "on the shady side"(for lack of better words).
