Cheers Jeff, one target achieved this year, now for the sub 200 -

I'll be putting the saddle on my TT build in the morning, then it's on to the turbo to assist with the set up.
Are there any basic 'Rules of thumb', to get the basic set up, prior to actual tweaks made through riding and putting in the miles to find the 'sweet spot'?Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -
a_n_t wrote:Quite happy with my position now. I just need to find a comfy saddle! The toupe is great on the road bike but its a bit painfull perched on the end of it for an hour or so!
Stone Wheelers 25 by any chance? If so, enjoy the last few miles ?0 -
Need to get a pic of me on my TT bike but MrsNapD refuses point blank as she wants no part of cycling!0

Just had my first ride.
All seemed well, but my triceps really felt it, from the off!
Is this because my pads were too far forward?
I moved my arms forward a bit, until the pad was almost under my elbow, but then my forearms started to ache! (I'm using 'J' bars, I think![Cinelli Angels]).
Spesh Tri Tip saddle seemd ok, maybe needs a little tweak for more nose down.
Very twitchy, to ride at first, had to stay off the aero bars untill out of the village, but had settled into it by the time I got back, so awero's are no problem, now.
I have set the brakes up Euro style, for a smoother line on the rear brake, but that's goona change, and soon, too!
EDIT:
Brakes now routed the UK way...
Much more confident.Start with a budget, finish with a mortgage!0 -

It takes a few hours on the bars to get used to them. Then again I have spent ages tweaking positions, s I had a problem with aching shoulders, forearms, wrists etc. It's take a while but eventually I have managed to eradicate the worst of them sufficiently for me to be able to ride on the bars for an hour or so without shifting position.0 -
New position seems to work, PB by 45 seconds tonight!0

Great result, but this is in Amateurr Race also which IMO si where it should be. This thread about position isn't really the right place to discuss race results, and clogs it up a bit, good though they are0 -

tell that to jimmyk - he uses the training forum to talk incessantly about the weather...0 -

One on its way, nice colour scheme!

A the moment I just do the club TTs for training so please excuse the steel frame and non disc wheel. This was me just missing the 11 minute barrier for a 5.
I think i need a shorter stem but apart from that... ideas?

lower your front end, and move your saddle slightly forward and up by no more than 5mm. You might find the stem is the right length after all.0

jesus its got a fat nose!
