superstar sintered pads for the elixirs as I noticed last night that the rears have almost gone. Hopefully given the comments above I won't regret that decision.

Kevlars are out of stock. meh.

It must just be me mate, hopefully they'll be fine for you! I just struggled to get enough heat into them so they worked when it was wet.

New wheels arrived today. OMG, they're soo light. Can't 'weight' to get them on the scales... :D

what wheels did you go for ?

American Classic 130 + 225 hubs, Sapim CX-ray spokes with black alloy Polyax nipples , ZTR Crest Rims.

Flippin flip ! just looked them up online. V nice wheels, but a bit rich for me - unless you found that you hated them and wanted to just give them away ;)

They've gone up in price £40 since I ordered these last week...

That said, I've been saving for most of the year to pay for these.

Apparently a bit stronger than 'normal' ones. I've been going through a spate of snapping spokes recently.

They are fantastic stoppers, awesome braking power with good modulation. Youll love em (esp after Hayes) ;)

07 I think, and will do

EDIT: It's an 08, as that's when they changed to 150mm drop outs

And yeah I know, pretty beasty! Am trying to keep the spec lighter than previous builds, especially for racing.

PORC mainly, Friston DH occasionaly (bit rubbish atm), a ''private'' so to say FR spot, Bull Track and trips further afield such as UKBP, Aston Hill and Gawton etc.

I'd say the best in East Sussex is currently PORC,attendance has been shooting up, especially with racing. Happy to show you round if ya' like
  • Bolts for the bikes:

    Marin:

Red (for X0 shifters and top cap) to match the brake bolts
'6x 'Natural Taperhead Ti bolts for the calipers
    12 x Ti rotor bolts

    Mongoose:

Red (for XT brakes and shifters)

Not going to bother with Ti hardware for the calipers on this... not worth it TBH.

KCNC Red jockey wheels and Gold deraileur bolt(s)

    Pimptastic!!!

  • DT Swiss conversion kit 20mm - 15mm front.

Yes, that means I've decided on new forks for the Mmmbop over a new bike, which incidentally was *going* to be a genesis io-id.

I've wanted an io-id for ages, alfine hub for my commute/winter bike would be amazing!

What forks have you decided on?
  • can personally vouch for the io-id, i love mine. doesnt get used for commuter though, but through the mud its faultless.

There is an io-id for sale in the classifieds at the moment with an alfine hub - not mine but I saw it yesterday - looked very nice.

Saw a Genesis Elysium road bike today - if I had 1300 to spend on such things I'd have bought it.

Yeh, I've fancied one for a while myself. But I think I'm going to wait for the Alfine 11sp version to drop to a similar price next year.

The one I was looking at was an ex-hire jobby, at £600 which I thought was quite reasonable.

Fork decision is looking to be a tough one, I *had* decided on a 2011 Talas 150, which is possibly the best looking fork I've seen in my entire life. But as per the decision thread in buying advice, I'mnow not entirely sure as servicing intervals to keep the warranty seem like a fookin joke (which is why I've always avoided Fox in the past)
