Vert is an older soft rubber though isn't it?Uncompromising extremist0

Older than what? I don't follow.0

Is the standard vert not their soft rubber that they used before they started using the black chili motorbike rubber? Don't think it's the same compound as the standard mountain king etc, reason being, you don't just instantly crash and die when it rains.
There's an OEM spec Vertical which is really horrible, but fair play, all OEM spec tyres are horrible.Uncompromising extremist0 -
I had a Vertical ages ago, hated it so much I gave it to dad
I much much prefer Nevegals to them, but minions even more (sorry, couldn't resist )
Disagree with you about all OEM tyres being horrible, I quite like OEM Ignitors, super cheap, long lasting, fast and reasonable grip. Kenda Komodo's aren't bad either (yes, I got some off the hire bikes at the Hub )0 -
I was just thinking to myself, hey, I stated an opinion on something without Pete instantly disagreeing, hope he's feeling OKUncompromising extremist0

£50 from merlin.
And its really very good, comfortable, feels top quality and the best thing - the bite valve dont leak!
i went in the shop to get one regardless of price. he got one out the back, then said something about the advertised price is fixed which was illegal so he reduced it down to £49.50. result as i was fully willing to pay full price.0 -
1 x pair Maxxis Larssen TT in 2.0 60a flavour
Fancied a change and thought I would give these a pop (for the Marin)0 -

I'm replacing my TT on the rear over the winter, it doesn't like wet mud. Great for commuting on though, even though mines the 2.35".0 -
Just bought a RRP Neo guard and some High5 cherry & orange tablets. I was going to get a Mucky Nutz, but would prefer it if they chrged you for postage, rather than stick a "handling charge" on at the checkout.0

I only ride when its dry (tart I know) so these *should* be perfect for me - but time will tell... super light as well (lighter than the RRs I think)0 -
a black end cap for my mag lite pedals, I noticed a bit of lateral play in the pedal, then I realised the end cap had gone walkies, ah well more Superstar Haribo for me
I'm going to start ordering individual items instead of in bulk, that way, more sweeties0 -

Just bought some Sealskinz mid-light socks. Got them from the LBS. They seem nice enough, looking forward to giving them a test. I'm glad I didn't go for the thermal ones though, because they are flippin thick.0

Some Ashima pads for the codes. Not sharing the love for the superstar ones at the moment, so I'm going to try these and see if things improve.
Also just waiting for my return to be acknowledged by Superstar and then I'll be ordering some through-pin nanos in white with blue pins.
Also toying with the idea of going back to using black bars instead of the white ones.0 -
As it has been raining and the trails are getting muddy I've decided to think about putting mudguards on... and I have ordered one of these.Vitus Sentier VR+ (2018) GT Grade AL 105 (2016)
Giant Anthem X4 (2010) GT Avalanche 1.0 (2010)

I have just ordered a new bike
All I'm saying is that it's a second hand hardtail XC bike that will be used in the winter XC series and for commuting.
Got to go over and pick it up in a couple of weeks.
Good times!0 -
Some Superstar kevlar pads, 2 full sets for £25, not too shabby. I'm hoping they actually stop you when it's cold and wet, unlike their sintered ones.
And also some :
Not to everyone's taste, but i like 'em!0 -
New wheels arrived today. OMG, they're soo light. Can't 'weight' to get them on the scales...0
-
superstar sintered pads for the elixirs as I noticed last night that the rears have almost gone. Hopefully given the comments above I won't regret that decision.
Kevlars are out of stock. meh.Visit Clacton during the School holidays - it's like a never ending freak show.
