Finally bit the bullet on some new DH friendly tyres for the 456, so got some of these from Bike-discount
Muddy mary's in 2.35 freeride casing, one in vertstar compound, t'other in pacestar, which will probably do dual duty as a rear for DH and front use in winter for XC, Nobby Nic's don't really like deep mud.
I also snapped the last Gatestar Nic Bike-discount had, was hoping to get two but they only had one left, so I may save it for the HD or run it on the 456 as a front for XC
The 456 needs a new bottom bracket, as it's running the original one from the HD, so its close to two years old. Got a new XT as the cheaper deore ones were out of stock.0 -
