Is Contador a great guy??

i am having trouble yes, apologies.
dont see how i repeated your point? i was wondering why people couldnt wear different colour shoes, was the world ACTUALLY black and white before the invention of colour film, i thought it was jut the film that changed?0 -
Hi CJ.
Let me re-phrase my point. Other members said that black shoes were stylish because the Greats wore them. All I was saying is that is a ridiculous point to make as even if they wanted to wear some other colour they couldn't have because they were not available.Contador is the Greatest0 -
so to confirm are you saying that if Eddy Mercxx had wanted white shoes he couldn't have had them? he couldn't have asked his shoemaker to have a different colour to black?0
-
I'd be interested to see a photo of a rider with shoes other than black.Contador is the Greatest0

@FF not offence, just suggesting it's immature to care about what colour shoes a cyclist wears.
Added to which you have very definite views on style. Anything AC wears good, anything LA wears bad.
It didn't escape me how you never responded to the suggestion that you went from admiring AC's lady boy shoes to distancing yourself from them.....
I'd also like to support the idea that hi-res images in a thread are very annoying, regardless of bandwidth. My fav though is when people quote them so I get to see them extra times....0 -
I could be wrong on that point. I am not aware of whether there were white shoes around then or whether you could get white shoes if you wanted them. I thought not but then maybe that is wrong.Contador is the Greatest0

No it isn't immature.
If Contador wore black shoes you can be sure I will be the first person to say it looks rubbish. Just like I said previously that his kit is rubbish.
I never said I admired those Contador shoes although I will say now they are good imo. It was simply googling Contador shoe / Lance shoe and taking the first small res photo. It could have been any white shoe vs any black shoe. If I had thought of Basso's black ones before Lance's I would have posted his.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Of course you admired them you put them forward as evidence of ACs style otherwise why do that. The fact that they are fit for the ladyboys of this world has made you view them in a different light.Gasping - but somehow still alive !0 -
I think after last year's Sidi advert (the spin the bottle/shoe ad) I think Alberto may have suggested that they should have a game of "Spin the Shoe" after thier Astana's training camp evening meal. Alberto must have showed them his lovely white shoe (pictured earlier) which would be used for the game.
It's a charming scene with last year's Astana's Team sat in a circle playing Spin the Shoe..."go on Lance give Alberto a little peck!!"
Maybe Alberto spurned Lance's chance of a quick "x" on the cheek, ending up with a whole year of Texan psycho crazy stuff.
Ah, Lance you can't have it all!!

PS- Hi to FF; sorry to be having a little jibe at your boy's expense!! We love him really; just wondering why the whole Astana Team doesn't?? Not even his mate Paulinho loves him any more...“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”- Albert Einstein

You happen to sit down next to Lance in a bar, but don't realize it at first. He offers to buy you a beer, at which time you realize who he is. Do you accept or move away in disgust??? :? :?0 -

So what do you reply when your out for a ride with LA and he asks you what you think of his grey socks?
Come on Dennis, they're terrible0 -

Yes they are. Then again black socks were put down when people started wearing them. I believe Lance does things like that on purpose. Just to get people upset.
As for the question I asked ff. I'm really curious how he would react. From all his talk
he would definately get up and walk away, or so you would think. I'm betting otherwise.
He'd have that beer and probably "come away with a different point of view", to quote the song "A Boy Named Sue".0 -
Who gives a f**k about the colour of shoes and socks?
It's beyond pathetic. It's bad enough we (me included) turn so many threads into I love/hate Lance, but this FF obsession with the most trivial put downs of anything Armstrong is sad loser territory.0 -

Not sure if you can see on my avatar, but I'm wearing black socks in it
Maybe this is a bit clearer...
But then I think it looks quite good with the white shoes!0 -
Ah poor dougzz is all riled up about some socks. I suggest you simply don't comment on threads where you think the material is beneath you, or pointless, or not interesting or whatever. It adds pretty much nothing.
If I care about rider's style and you don't, I suggest you get over it, it is not the end of the world.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I have my fair share of black socks. They don't show dirt like the white ones.0 -

You as ever miss the point. I'm not annoyed about the socks, but about your endless love affair with Bertie and your pathetic put downs of Lance. Criticise Lance for the big things he does wrong, don't bleat on about the colour of his kit, it's really sad. You pick something completely subjective such as style, and then make endless posts as if you're the absolute authority on style, you promote your opinions as if they're fact, when they're just the ramblings of your warped Bertie world. I really should know better than to respond since debating with you is akin to arguing with a 3 year old.I suspect you're one of these people with 4923 Facebook friends, and not a proper actual friend in the whole world.0 -

You know immediately if someone has lost the argument and lost composure when they resort to personal criticisms and attacks. That sort of stuff is below me so I will not reply in kind.
You obviously didn't get it the first time so I shall repeat it a little more plainly. I will write whatever I chose to. If you find it inane or otherwise it has no bearing on my future postings. I couldn't care less what you think. Your opinion in no way influences mine.
I am a fan of the best stage racer in the World. I suggest you get used to it as that will not change any time soon. You can call my admiration of his talent as a 'love affair' if you choose to if it makes you happy, I care not a bit.
I will not bother replying to you again if you reply to this comment as I have better things to do with my time.Contador is the Greatest0
