No, I don't think it's tough at all. I admire those who overcome the challenges associated with migration. I've been a student of Geography so I understand why migration occurs and the benefits and disadvantages that come with it.
The political references are just anecdotal. I don't mind who gets to vote for who or what. Equally I don't care if the White English population aren't the dominant segment.
What I do care about is being denied an Identity. What's more being labelled a racist for claiming my identity.
If we can't all be British together then we should all be able to claim an identity. What annoys me is when Identity becomes a political/social tool for discrimination. I also see no difference between 'positive' and 'negative' discrimination. In any given circumstances, discrimination will always be positive to some and negative to others.

markwalker: ownership isn't exclusivity. i.e. just because the White people 'own'/run this country, doesn't mean White people should be the only benefactors of the nation.
I also think this idea of there being an 'indigineous' people of the British Isles is being used politically to negative affect by organisations like the BNP. It's all bollox. We are a human race, we are all indigenous to the earth (that sounds a hippyish but oh well).0 -

My whole beef is with liberals telling me whats racist when in fact the defacto racist outcomes of their policies and recieved thoughts are ignored or viewed as positive.
I honestly dont care what race religion or colour anyone is, thats their business but i do care when i see my values and culture cast aside for those of other newer peoples. a few hundred years agon that would happen to indiginous peoiples when there lands were discovered and plundered. Anyway, I'm not really old/experienced enough to truly understand politics and society. However my opinion is that British politics is currently in a dire state and I lack any faith in it as a system for governing our society. I'm 18 so i'll get a vote in the coming election. I won't be wasting my time contemplating ANYTHING any party says. I'll put a cross down anyway.
Either way the nation is going to be crippled by either attaining or paying of such a huge debt. Makes me laugh that we're 'out of the recession'. Statistically, yes. In reality the shit will soon hit the fan. Anyone who thinks they're recession proof at the moment will soon find they're not.

Where it gets worse is when we sacrifice our indetity to such an extent that we limit our powers to govern our own society/country. I find it absurd that the Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish can vote for their own governments and the British government, yet the English people can only vote for the British Government. Unfortunately if a politician were to campaign for an English governement he would be labelled racist/nationalist/BNP. We are a United Kingdom of 4 nations. Why is it that only 3 can claim their national identity?
I've never once filled in a form where I had to identify myself as "Welsh British", in fact there was a campaign to get Welsh added to the census form as a nationality and which failed. Also, if you fancy your own English government creating another tier of legislation and costing millions of extra pounds whilst having no real power you can have ours!

It makes me smile when i see reddraggon and co proudly trumpeting their nationality culture and heritage and the same name callers dont make such a thing as they did to mine. double standards.

I've filled in a few forms too. My Dad works in British Naval docks at the moment and he had to fill in a form with the exact scenario I described. He put English under 'Other' and they wouldn't accept it.
The situtation is almost like have a Red team, a Blue team, a Green team and a Yellow team - but the Red team can only be referred to as the team that isn't Green, Blue or Yellow.

I remain open minded on this and would welcome any valid research. The government office of statistics or whatever it's called does actually have such data already I believe, it's pretty much what you'd expect - i.e. some ethnic minorities are poorer for whatever reason.
I don't think that that adage is out of date though - many employeers use overseas labour because they'll work for min. wage, they would employ Brits but they don't come forward. There are plenty of jobs about - hospitality, cleaning, seasonal agricultural stuff, cockle picking (is that poor taste?).

On identity -
Welsh, English & Scottish aren't really races are they? I thought that Celtic & Anglo Saxon were, strictly speaking, the racial sub groups within 'white British'. I'm not sure on this but that's what I always thought.
My parents are both Welsh but when I've applied for Jobs in Wales there is no box for that! It is confusing - the definitions of race & nationality aren't clear cut. I usually fill my nationality in as English, and I've never had any problem whatsoever on job applications (even for jobs in white-hating liberal establishment local government ).
I also read English books, watch English films, eat English food and listen to English music. And funnily enough, I've managed to get through 30 years of life without being called a racist. I wonder why that is - oh, yes, maybe it's because I don't tell everyone that I'm being persecuted and pillaged.0 -
