Well you know what, as I have always wanted to do some form of long distance event type ride. It's gone into my favourites and I will speak to my superiors about having some time off lol.

    Why the hell not??????????? :)

Probably have to sit that one out as I start 3 weeks leave on the 19th of this month. But I'm definatly interested in the Votwo ride, may aswell start with something mega lol. Gives me a couple of months to work on my stamina :)

i'm doing it as a warm up for the VoTwo South Downs Challenge 2nd weekend in May
Me and a mate rode the south downs way about 12 years ago , we did it over 3 days and that was hard going .. we parked the car at winchester train station and got the train from there down to east bourne , where the sdw starts and rode back ..
dont know if id fancy doing it again though ?
we did it early in the year and some of the bridlelways were well chewed up
Think it could be a cracking ride IF you get the weather right

I'm seriously considering doing it, I've emailed Mencap about it and will be finding out this week if I can have a couple of days off around the weekend.

It's really good quality, the sound is good on it too, you can hear me puffing and panting like a fat git in an upstairs pieshop lol.
The camera costs £2.98 and the post and packaging from China is £9.99

I fixed in on my lid with it's rubber holder and 2 cable ties, it was looking in the right direction, but coz the holder is rubber it was a bit bouncy.
I've got another 2 hard plastic brackets that came with it to try yet...going to do another test run using one of those this week.....it's all trail and error with the fixings, the cam is spot on for the money.
You need to get a class 6 micro memory card for it as well.
    we got one of these
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT
and it gives a nice flow to the recording :D

Hey Chesley, remember you said in your initial post title about not being able to do any of the rides in the mags......well guess what, i found a route done by MBR which was in the same area we rode in the peaks......apparently one of their 'epic' routes covering some of the route we did.
