    possibly, but i wouldn't
it would be ok in the afternoon on the monkey, with possibly some some breaking issues
but the mornings ride will be on mixed surfaces
you could always put it in the back of the car and play it by ear when you get there
saying that though, went for a ride yesterday and for the most part its pretty dry out there

Hi Guys, just to let you know that Lauren79, aka Nicola, and I will be there tommorrow, we won't be staying behind for the BBQ though.
I went over the chase tonight and as Roo said it's very dry. It was my first time since the Monkey opened and I have to say it is very good, the rollers on the way to Birches Valley are awesome and the Monkey quite testing in places!

    Hey Roo,
Let me be the first to congratulate you on an excellent route today, It was a great ride and a hard act to follow on the 27th June, shame I could not stay longer to do the Monkey Trail with you guys but that's life.

I'll second that, a good introduction to trails for me. I appreciate the patience of the more experienced riders. For the sake of domestic bliss had to bail early. Unfortunately 27th June coincides with Birmingham to Oxford ride, but planning for the July one where ever it is.

Hope your ribs mend soon Steve

lets put it this way. at the start of the ride there was 22 of us, by the time we got to the final section, the numbers had dwindled to 2 cause of fatigue and time
the last group rode valiantly on until they could take it no more

Hello boys and girls......yes its me......still living albeit sore ribs, sore arms and a swollen right wrist and forearm !!!!!.....no broken bones fortunately.

I set off home early as you know but by about 50 mile down the road my wrist and fore arm swelled up and i was in serious pain and had to drive the rest of the way home with one arm !!!! fortunately my car is automatic otherwise i would have been in trouble.....

Thank you Roo for a brill ride...it certainly was a testing one.....am pi**ed off about not being able to do it all as i was enjoying myself....hats off to you Roo.

Unfortunately i wont be back at work on monday cos there is no way i can drive a coach by then with this arm !!!

oh no... Get well soon Steve.... alternate hot and cold compresses to get that swelling down.... Hot towel and a bag of frozen peas usually works.

Just how unfit is unfit? Having only just started on a bike again after 16-17 years i was tempted to stick my name down for this but very worried about not being able to keep up how many miles are we talking? Up hill? down hill seems reasonable to me my weight obviously helps  up hill i reckon walking would be quicker  Maybe by the june one my ars* will be used to cycling and not so sore maybe a little fitter too.
