Snow rides! Pics and Vids

deadkenny: I thought your photos were excellent too!
I used a Nikon D60 on my ride in the snow, it got very wet and survived unscathed luckily!
I've got a sigma 10-20 lens I sometimes use which is excellent for landscape shots when on rides with decent views.I love the sound my tyres make on dusty single track!0 -
Normally I ride with earphones in, this morning I was so enthusiastic to get going I forgot them.
Tires make awesome sounds in the snow, and I love that cracking ice sound that gives you just enough time to wonder how deep the muddy puddle is. And then, when you're stuck and need to step down, how wide.
I love this weather.0 -
Went up to Cwmcarn on Sunday with one of those cheap ebay Muvi clones. I need to work on the camera position but the quality is ok for £30 all-in.

Where can i get one?0 -
Didn't really get any snow, just a thick layer of frost0

My snowy video from the Peaks Sunday just gone (with crash compilation at the end)
Derwent Edge and the descent down the slabs to Ladybower
http://vimeo.com/8563444
There is a few on my profile there from Cannock Chase on Xmas Eve as well with a bit of snow and ice
Ladybower = £250 VHoldr camera
Cannock = £50 Veho Muvi camera with sportspack from Tescos
Not much difference in quality to justify the extra cost!0 -

Have got a polariser on it though for some shots which made the sky nice and deep blue. The purple/blue sky in the last one was just because of the sunset. I was rapidly running out of light to find my way home!
Wow, impressive!
I have a Sony A200 can you reccomend a good place to buy a polariser and brand too?0 -

Photobucket Phail
Let me fix that for you
When you are using photobucket, the easiest way to put an image up is to copy the "IMG Code" as it appears on your list of links under the photo, then paste it into your post. No need to do anything else because it will already have the tags attached.0 -

Plenty of places online. Though if the filter size is quite large, these things get very expensive. They're quite cheap at smaller sizes though.
Photo purists will insist on top name or camera manufacturer brands that cost a fortune (£100+), but I've never seen the benefit.
Hoya is a good reasonable priced brand. There are different varieties, basic, multi-coated, super multi-coated, pro, digital etc. I just go for the HMC (regular multi-coated). I generally just search on google for Hoya HMC and whatever the filter size is and find a cheap place. If you don't mind a wait for an import coming from Hong Kong, places like www.onestop-digital.com can be cheap especially for the larger filters.0 -
bamba wrote:'Cat With No Tail' , thanks very much, bit new to this, any tips on making them a bit smaller
No worries dude.
On Photobucket, just under where it says "Upload images and videos" there is a smaller link in brackets saying "(more options)".
If you click on that, then choose either large or medium. I upload my photos in large size, they seem to fit nicely on here.
Once you've selected your preferred size, click save, then all photos you upload will be uploaded to that size.0
