I make that £892 with quidco cashback - not kitted out a single speed before, but I guess if you had spare bits knocking about you could do it for less.

Yeah - a fair bit less I think - though interestingly, that spec is pretty much a £200+ chainset and a £300+ wheelset, £70 tyres (gatorskins), £70 brake/brake lever set, £50+ saddle (and some Kona bits on top), which makes it a decent deal at that price too.

I hope this is useful: I bought a few bits from these guys -http://www.bike-discount.de (hubs for wheels I'll be building) - their prices seem to be very good on a lot of stuff, well worth bookmarking for next time you're ordering a haul of bits.

Link shows none in stock in Southampton but there were about 20 when I went in. I treated myself to two. Seems like a bargain when they're selling just the cages for £7.99 too.

I want that! The black/blue will coordinate perfectly with my new frame! Is the cage Sky branded, or only the bottle - it's hard to see from the picture?

No, just the bottle is Team Sky. The cage is black, blue and white.

.... didn't even realise it was Team Sky when I bought it, was just the most suitable colour in stock at Ribble when I bought it with some other stuff before taking the bike to Germany.

Definitely an easy bottle cage to get your bottle in and out of. Also doesn't seem to gouge the sides of bottle like some others do. Reasonable deal from Decathlon including the Sky branded bottle. Older son noticed the new Camelbak bottles from PBK and I said I would get him a 500ml bottle for his MTB (frame too small for 700ml), one of these will do the job nicely.

Yes! I detoured home via Surrey Quays and picked up a couple of them (and a few other bits and bobs)

Tempting! Any reason not to use these with Campag ergos? I'd have thought not, especially as my (2006) Cannondale came with Centaur, except for the brakes which are Cannondale badged but actually Shimano. However I came across this comment about the 6700 Ultegras: "Shimano's Servo-Wave technology is what has improved modulation and power. Servo-Wave in the brakes also means you've got to use these calipers with 6700 or 7900 levers or they are not going to work, at least according to Shimano."

I just don't like Campag's skeleton brakes, I'm afraid.

Xenon / Mirage / recent Veloce and Centaur are all non-skeleton. There's no reason not to mix Shimano and Campag, other than that it is just wrong!
