Scott Rc shoes arrived today and they are very nice. I am a 43 in normal shoes but my empires are 44 (just fit) and a 45 in Shimano. The Scotts are a 44 and are slightly longer than the empire so I might have been able to get away with the 43 but the width is fine so will be keeping. You have to have them in your hand to notice the scott branding. These are super light and will be great for summer. They feel as good and as well made as the giro they are replacing and a bargain at the sale price, If you have never tried cycling shoes with laces then these are a low-risk starting point.1

My size 44 Scotts have arrived, and as David7m rightly suggested, the design is identical in respect of the shape of the shoe on the RC Boa shoes I have.
Nice they they also come with an extra set of black laces, although personally I would have preferred a second pair of yellow ones.
I ended up buying two pairs after it was mentioned how lightweight and airy they are (Which I would heartily agree with) and will keep one pair here, and will take one pair to Mauritius where my parents live, as all I have there are some 2 bolt not very well fitting diadora shoes, so these will be a sound replacement.
As to quality - would agree they do not strike me as £200 shoes, however I would suggest they are 'worth' in the region of £120, so at around £54 a pair, I'd say they are a proper bargain.
Bargain time - these are £185 down to £75 - received mine today, not had time to work out if I like them or not, they are a bit larger than I had envisaged:
https://wiggle.co.uk/oakley-field-jacket-prizm-road-sunglasses/
They may need some photochromic or clear lenses to make me really find them useful.
Not to sure about the rose coloured prizm lens, though I appreciate they get raved about.

If thinking about Selcof carbon post, worth doing as upgrade on bike purchase, +£40 instead of buying seperate at £60 (good posts, have one on Cube)
Even though I tried a Boardman CX Team this time three years ago on a turbo in Halfords, experiencing and struggling to cope with SRAM's gearing quirks compared to Shimano for the first time (and then bought Cube few months later), this deal has me in a quandry this afternoon...
Been starting to think about a new commuter recently that could also double-up as a winter bike, whether to go hybrid or CX/adventure.
Big dilemma would be sizing, my Cube is 388/610mm reach/stack with 110mm stem and ~75mm reach bars (plus the long BR505 hydraulic hoods). ~420mm reach to hoods.
Medium XLA is 393/555mm, large is 400/573mm reach/stack. Comes with 100mm stem and 75mm reach bars. Gut instinct says medium as I could then safely change to a 110mm stem, would show more post as I typically run ~72cm BB to saddle top, but would my lower back cope with bars that are ~55mm lower than the Cube?================

@daniel_b how do these size up? Technically I'm a size 7 / 7.5 but take a 43 in Shimano, for example. Cheers.daniel_b said:Scott lace up road shoes - carbon sole, £200 down to £59, seemingly available in most popular sizes, and there's also a 10% code floating about too.
I think I have convinced myself not to get any, as I think I prefer ratchet \ BOA closure system.
I have some of their BOA road shoes, and they are brilliant, easily as good as Mavic \ Sidi etc.

Hi PB,
technically in normal shoes I am a 10, but then the 44's fit me closely, and they are classed as a 9.5.
Another chap on the other thread bought 44's (He was also an everyday 10) and found them too snug, 45's suited him.
I haven't worn Shimano shoes for an age unfortunately, so can't help with the comparison.
But if we are led to believe that the sizing is pretty accurate (Assuming I am a small 10) that would put you as a 41.
Personally, I would be inclined to order the two (41 & 42 imho) or three most likely sizes, and return the one/s that don't fit.
On the subject of bargains, Morvelo have a rather stonking sale on right now, and FLURO10 gets you an extra 10% off any fluro kit - I may have ordered a fair amount of kit, mostly for commuting, a couple of base layers some knee and leg warmers, a couple of jerseys, and critically some bibtights for 9 months time, oh and a couple of caps - I do love my caps.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

I've been in turmoil about this deal but I just can't pull the trigger, trying to save for home deposit plus bad memories of trying Sram's "double tap" for the first time three years ago.

I have SRAM Rival on my Synapse Adventure - didn't seek it out, but wanted the frame colour, and that was what it came with.
Bit of a mare to setup, and it's ok, but I wouldn't personally choose another bike with it on, Shimano is just so more forgiving setup wise, doesn't seem to be as susceptible to frustrating performance issues due to really minor alignment issues, and shifts (imho) easily if not more crisply.
If you fit in a Castelli Small, Sigma have Endurance X2 shorts with the stunning Progetto X2 pad for half price at £57!
Some reviews claim the material is slightly thicker so best for marginally colder conditions, does this ring true with anyone?Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
