I've ordered the Fawsome and the Isterico (the Isterico is also around £50 off and has rear pockets) so hopefully I'll have them by Saturday.

Castelli say they are for use between 10c and 18c but I wouldn't generally use a gillet if it was 10c. Generally I use mine if it's a bit damp and windy out but not wet enough to need a full on waterproof jacket.

Just tried them out - I ordered several sizes into my local store. Kept the Fawesome XL in the end - debated between that and the XXL. Would normally have gone for the relaxed fit of the XXL but decided the whole point of this is aero, so went for the XL. I have a 43" chest. The XXL was also a bit longer, which almost swung it for me, but not in the end.

The Isterico was really nice, well made, perfect pockets and styling, but I decided I just dont want/need a gilet that warm - it was really thick. If it was cold enough for that then I would probably want arms aswell. I already have a Gore Phantom if I want a really warm gilet, with the advantage I have have the arms too if I want them. And I find the Phantom too warm most of the time too. So I (unusually for me) saved myself £65 and didnt buy the Isterico - despite its beauty.

The Isterico had a slightly looser fit than the Fawesome - XL would be the obvious size for me.

Sainsbury in Colliers Wood have U-locks for sale at £9.99, I think reduced from £20. Might be nationwide. I know most of the bike products found in supermarkets are pretty cack, but these looked pretty well made and remarkably like the Oxford Magnum U-lock I have at work which is rated Sold Secure Gold. Might be worth checking out.

I've got one of those. Seems pretty solid. Lock mechanism isn't the most reliable though - I regularly have to fiddle with the key for a couple of minutes to get it to turn. One of these days I'll be left stranded. It also weighs a tonne - kiss goodbye to any KOM's with that in your backpack! I leave mine at work wherever possible...

Tremendous deal, can't work out the valve length though, in the absence of any further info I'm guessing short valve and presta?
  • Good spot on that one. Definitely presta, no info in the valve length.

Edit: Google-fu seems to suggest these would have a 40mm valve.

Gone for it. Do tubes go mouldy after a while? I still have some left over from the 10 for 20 quid deal at CRC a while ago....

Gone for it too. May as well- at that price it's almost cheaper to bin them than patch them!

Wonder if they'll honour it... suspect they'll either get swamped with orders and there'll be limited stock or there'll be a pricing problem and orders will be cancelled. Can't believe it didn't get heat on hotukdeals!

Friend of mine recieved his today- he's a premium amazon customer or something.

He has a package containing 1 inner tube and a reciept for a 10 pack.

Bunch of feckers. What do we do now?

SPD-SL 105's for £39.99 on the Evans web-site. £54 in-store. Or if you go in-store and ask for a price match against their own website, £39.99.
    FCN3: Titanium Qoroz.

It will be interesting if they have accepted the sale by taking the money and have dispatched incorrect quantities of goods...

Usually, traders avoid this by voiding the transaction and not completing the order (so no contract has been entered in to).

    Edit: added quote for clarity.

Guess it's a phone call to Amazon to get them to honour their side of the deal. Loss of bargain there I'd imagine, so they should either fulfil the order with the 9 remaining tubes or pay the market price of 9 tubes back. I ordered four packs so will see what happens when they arrive.

Mate has spoken to amazon. Apparently becuase its an external supplier theres 'nothing they can do'. He has emailed the supplier, so we'll have to wait and see if they ever get back to him.

Looks like a smallish company - probably best to just get a refund rather than kick up a fuss and potentially push them to the wall, particularly in current economic climes.

Not true, Amazon guarantee anything bought through their site: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/custome ... Id=3149571 - although you have to contact the external supplier first and give them 3 days to rectify the situation. I wonder what would happen to anyone who bought the 10 tubes at the 28 quid price? Do they also get only one tube?

Now relieved that when I tried to order, there was a £5 delivery charge and I remembered the five from the CRC deal last year sitting in the bike bit box, so didn't tap on 'place order'.

Ah, but you could change that to the free "Super-saver" delivery, which I did.

Don't suppose anyone here ordered 2 pairs of medium shorts from the alpine bikes offer a couple of pages back?

If so (and you live in Walton upon Thames) I apparently have your shorts, and you have my 1 pair of XL!

Any who, think it must have been mobile Amazon & the default "first class delivery" charge. Good luck to those who were quick off the blocks ( and more au fait with m.amazon).

Didn't get a message, probably because my order has already been dispatched :( If they refuse to give me the packs of 10 they can refund me and collect the parcel from me at their own expense

That's what'll happen. Amazon will refund and provide you a pre-paid returns label.
