    Definitely...stuff...uncommon.

I had that same thing with my brand new Sidi's Genius 5's. The tongue cut into the top of the ankle. I tried folding it but the top strap was also pushing against the top of the ankle. Soon sorted it with a pair of scissors. Shaped the top strap and trimmed the tongue.

    I had...comfortable.

Well very tatty now; they are 12 years old. Time I suspect to start the long search for replacements.

Don't bin them too soon. Well, at least until the replacements fit, work and are comfortable..
I thought after 19 years, I would replace my Sidi's with... another pair of Sidi's. The new one's (Genius 5) look very similar, are very similar inside, have the same arch level and are identical size.
But, first was a hot spot under my left foot so bought some Spesh Green +++ insoles, then came the tongue/strap conundrum and I cannot figure out why the difference but there is.
Old shoes have been consigned to winter training but there in case the problems persist and if not...

Jesus that's a bewildering selection of stock! I'm a fussy bugger when it comes to footwear, so internet shopping for a pair would involve spending thousands and returning nearly all of them. So I'd more or less decided to amble down to Evans* and try a few pairs on. I think the new Shimano touring ones look quite stylish. There's a lace up version too in case I go completely retro.

Just been in to Cycle Republic in Edinburgh and they have Garmin premium HR monitors for £10 - can't see it on their website so not sure if it is all stores (or all Halfords).

Good find, would love one of those for that price!
Will detour via my local Halfords to check if they have the same.
Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.

Maybe not the time of year to buy a Turbo Trainer, but the Minoura Live Ride 340 for £66.30 at Halfords looks a good price.

    http://www.halfords.com/cycling/turbo-trainers/trainers/minoura-live-ride-340

This isn't listed as a web exclusive, so British Cycling members can get this for £59.67. Even with the £10 off code it's £140 at Ribble. I checked and it's available for click and collect at my nearest store, so it seems to be in stock.

** Update: As of Saturday morning, this is no longer available. The Cyclops trainer below is still available though and is now a few pence cheaper.

And the CycleOps Wind Trainer at £56.33 also seems to a lot cheaper than elsewhere.

Yer back! You won't derail this thread Meursault - it has enormous momentum. Besides, cyclists are the most tight fisted individuals on the planet and try very hard to never pay full price on anything cycling related.

Shouldn't have looked but spent on a pair of bibs and MTB gillet.

Not too impressed with the gillet but for £10 I can live with it, bibs fit fine. Yet to ride in them yet though.

I used to have a TomTom multi activity. It was good, simple interface and did running, swimming as well as cycling. But no Ant+ connection so couldn't use my Garmin HRM. I sold it to buy a Garmin Vivoactive. That's much better as it's small enough to use as a regular watch and it's got Smart watch capabilities (plus it's Ant+). I paid £100 for it, can get for £130 now.
But if you want the TomTom, its only £60 here:

Yes, I looked into a coffee shop business a while back, and the research I did confirmed cyclists are tightest in the community!

Moi? derail threads? with my reputation?

Endura Stealth II Waterproof Jacket - £170 down to £70 or £80, Small and medium seem to be the only options, but sounds like it is not the most fitted garment in the world.

Ribble have the Tiagra Hydraulic Group for £360:
    http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/shimano-t ... c-groupset

Not too bad, although you need a flat mount bike rather than the more common post mount - Dolan RDX might be worth a look:
    http://www.dolan-bikes.com/road/road-fr ... meset.html

Either way you can self build for a bit under a grand depending on wheels and finishing kit (and how full your parts bin is).

    July last year - http://bike.shimano.com/content/sac-bik ... ulic-.html

Price is a lot more palatable that the £500 odd for the 105 level hydraulic groupset - well, for a winter/wet bike anyway.

Just a shame you need a whole new frame.... or to buy some post mount hydraulic calipers and swap things around yourself.

Alas no. If you have a flat mount frame you can adapt it for post mount calipers.

To fit flat mount calipers to a post mount frame you'd have to saw off the post mounts from your frame.

So creating an adapter from post mount frame to flat mount caliper is a physical impossibility.*

*unless you were adapting it to a considerably larger rotor size - perhaps 180mm?

You could always go for the shifter only option, just add hoses and calipers (bit of an anti-bargain really )
