my LBS is selling a used Derosa bike with full dura ace for £1500, they dont usually sell 2nd hand but this is for a friend of the owner, I had a look at the dura ace is perfect like new even but needs new cabling if you ask me, i think the size is 54-56 and i didnt clock the wheels.

Lame of me but i'd be happy to do a full spec if anyones in the market. Its earmarked for a local this Sat. based on what i overheard

I got some of their stuff when they had the winter sale.
The gloves and base layers were really good but I found the sizing of the bib tights a bit odd so returned them. They did seem like pretty good quality though.

I'm delighted with my jerseys and bibs, but I'm predominantly a commuter, so can't give you any sense of where they fit in the grand scheme of things.

I had a pair of Polaris-made bib tights from Edinburgh Bike Coop - fit perfectly... Bought (ostensibly) the same from Polaris and the "body" was about 3"/75mm shorter... Fine on the bike, but lead me to sound not unlike Joe Pasquale when stood up straight.

Damn you. I like the look of that Tattoo jersey for the grand total of £8, and then the £5 arm warmers.
    Do I need them? Hmmmm....
Ooh, MTB gilet for £10? I don't have a gilet at the moment...
And £4 for delivery. Whoops, I slipped...

The FSA Team 30 Wheelset for £100 at Planet X looks a decent buy. Their stock system says there are 17 in stock at the moment.

I have a few bits from Polaris, and they are similar in quality Endura, if not quite as good, but still perfectly serviceable. Returns, delivery, customer service is all good and I will have no doubts in buying from them again.

Agreed, had a few bits myself. Got a jersey in a sale that was a tenner, normally 40 squidoos.

  • I just picked up an Oxygen Windstopper short-sleeve jersey for 38 squiddies off Amazon. It said they had two left in Scuba Blue in EU/US size M. Some say this jersey is better than the Gabba for less dosh. I wouldn´t know, but my Oxygen jacket is indestructible and just works. Also, the Oxygen range come with six pockets (three deep ones on the back, two smaller mesh ones on the flanks and a zipped key pocket), which is great for long rides.

Edit: never mind, it´s back to £120... Evans have pink ones in S, L and Xl for £48 though.

This one is specific to the Bath area, and assuming anyone is after a pair of Specialized BG Pro carbon mtb shoes in EU 44 size  If so, Total Fitness (round the corner from Walcott Street) have one pair left upstairs reduced from £240 to only 80 notes. Would have bagged them myself but I take a 43. They're the white and grey version with the upper boa closure. They also had some other Spesh shoe deals downstairs in sizes 44 and above, including some cool black s-works road shoes at a hefty discount....

Definitely a good deal but these shoes have an odd cut (at least some versions of the MTB do). I had to send mine back because they cut into my ankle - a problem I discovered later isn't uncommon.

I had that same thing with my brand new Sidi's Genius 5's. The tongue cut into the top of the ankle. I tried folding it but the top strap was also pushing against the top of the ankle. Soon sorted it with a pair of scissors. Shaped the top strap and trimmed the tongue.

Yeah - if it had just been the tongue I could have coped- but they had an offset opening and it was the the rim of the shoe that was cutting into my ankle - they were deeply uncomfortable. Also two of the toe studs fell off in the first couple of rides. Fortunately Spesh have a very good comfort guarantee.

Shouldn't have looked but spent on a pair of bibs and MTB gillet.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

I had that with my Nike touring shoes. To the extent that it was causing loss of feeling in one of my shins. The GP confirmed this by sticking needles in both my legs. Only later did it dawn on me that the shoes were the cause, and I remedied things with a spot of scissor work. Tatty but comfortable.

Well very tatty now; they are 12 years old. Time I suspect to start the long search for replacements.

Any bargain 2 bolt shoes with a stiffish sole but without looking too much like a MTB version? I'm thinking I'm stuck with the 2 Shimano touring options...

The original Shimano road shoes I had could take two bolts.

My son has some Spiuk ones that have 2 and 3 bolt options, but the 2 bolt SPD cleats aren't recessed so he's clattering about like Fred Astaire.

I like the fact that mine are recessed so I'm looking for the same in the replacements.
