Hmmm, interesting! How do these fit for folk with wide feet does anyone know?

Not sure about wide feet, but they have loads of room in the toe box and feel fairly roomy. They do have a high arch so maybe not suited to flat feet. I ordered a 43 and a 44 from Bike-Discount -

    http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k2193/ ... -sale.html

(which are a little cheaper) but found the 43 too small and the 44 too big would you believe it. I am a 44 in northwave and found the fizik 44's just a little bit too big and never quite cupped my heel enough and found movement. So, I have now ordered the 43.5 from wiggle and send the rest back to Germany. I reckon they will be bang on size. I hate shoes not fitting properly and should have really gone into a shop but very lazy nowdays with internet. By the way I got the SL as not keen on the buckle systems (and they also weigh a little less.)

    Not well apparantly:

"Even with various insoles fitted, riders with wide and/or flat feet couldn't get them to feel right"

    http://www.bikeradar.com/road/gear/cate ... e-12-46379

It's all a bit unclear - I've found references to them fitting more like Northwave (which do work for me) and some that they are like Shimano which don't!

Edit - thanks for that Jezzery. Might do a double dabble!! It's the toe box area where my feet are wide so it might be worth a shot. Shame that Extra 10 seems to have stopped.

    10-extra still works.

Thanks for that. I've ordered 3 sizes in the hope that one will fit and two can go back!

Lezyne Sport Floor Drive Track Pump - £29.54

Not that much of a bargin but still cheaper than everywhere else by a few quid. I've already ordered it and will pick it up soon. Maybe tomorrow. Should be an excellent pump.

What does everyone think about the free Gatorade gamble if Froome wins the tour:

    http://www.gatorade.co.uk/ifwewinyouwin

    Bargain or not?

Will they lace his energy drink with laxatives if the offer is too popular and he looks like he's winning.......

Buy it on the 23rd June from a retailer with a 28 day refund policy (or buy from wiggle now as they have a 365 day return policy), don't use it and return it if Froome (or Porte) doesn't win the tour.

probikekit.co.uk has 105 stuff at 40% off. You have to buy eight lots to get the full discount, but could be worth a good group buy? If you buy four lots, you get 20% off. The individual prices are a little higher than merlin or ribble to start with however..

£45 cheaper than Ribble for the groupset (£348), to save anyone else adding it all to basket.

I want a set of Profile Jammer GT Aerobars, but Evans are £20 more than Ribble anyway

Are there any codes working at Ribble at the mo?

Ok so called back, told the deal had one more day. Was midway through giving the delivery address before he says the code doesn't work on 3 brands. One being Specialized, which is the helmet I wanted. Rubbish.

Dont know whats going on here - the code was in an advert in the telegraph last week and said valid until 20th July. Bloke on the phone yesterday had no problems applying it and said that several people had phoned saying it wasnt working online and he had done the same for them.

I wasnt aware that certain brands were excluded either... I wonder if he was telling porkies.

No, there are excluded brands (and why would the phone chap porkify anyway?!) - I've rung up twice and both times the first thing they said when I mentioned the offer was that certain brands were excluded.

On the off-chance you wanted an S3 or Prevail, Specialised are offering an 'amnesty' on such at £60 & £85 (down from £110 & £140 or so) if you hand in any lid. Treated myself to an S3 after using a basic Bell one for two decades...

I rang up about an hour ago and got told a long story about mistakes and trying to extend it and marketing agreeing to extend it till the 20th etc etc , but that the code could no longer be applied,
I said it was 20th originally and he still said No the 16th, but they had extended it, but now they couldn't.......
He then started on about the cpa15, to which I obviously replied thats not even in the ball park :(

I dug up Saturdays telegraph but can't find Sundays anywhere, Saturdays was the first batch of offers, but need Sundays for the T&C's :(

I guess I'll try again, and hope for someone else, but he was adamant that it no longer worked... was very freindly and talkative , saying they had had loads of calls but that he couldn't do it :(

Does anyone have a copy of the Sunday telegraph? , whilst I'm sure it was 20th, I can't argue the T*$$ if I don't have cast Iron (paper) facts, though I tried quite hard anyway, he wasn't having it :(

You'll probably find in the T&Cs that they retain the right to withdraw the offer at any time...

As they did a similar thing a couple of months ago....

  • Planet X have some pretty good deals on Vittoria Open Corsa KS/KX tyres...

    http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/TYV ... lding_tyre

    Reduced from £55 to £14.99!

Nb. I've not tried them, but given how good cheaper Vittoria tyres are, they should be pretty excellent.

Seems like a bargain. I just bought some Michelin Pro4 on DAD20 though! I keep buying bargain tyres... Anyone got any experience of these? How puncture proof are they?

They got 2 different width: 20 or 23 mm.
Does anybody know if the 20mm be fine on a road bike or it's only recommended for TT?

Why would you want 20mm on a road bike?

The thinking these days is 25mm is the optimum size for a road bike.

I've commuted on 19 and 18mm before. Can't say I noticed any discernible difference between them at 23s and I lived the uber skinny look
