Probably isn't one. One of the main things that makes carbon frames more expensive is the design and tooling; I wouldn't be surprised if this is built around a generic frameset, for which the tooling costs are already amortised; could be one of the cheap Chinese ones for instance.

Given PX can put together a carbon bike with SRAM Rival for a grand, the price of this one looks about right...

Might be the generic calliper brakes - the review of another Mekk here finds them a notable failing.

I thought the 540 pedals came with cleats and they are only about 20 anyway on that site

Yeah but I don't replace the pedals every time I replace the cleats.

Mind you...I wonder how much ebay is asking for pedals only.....

Dunno - but you can never have enough cheap cleats  I don't really want a cupboard full of pedals though but the turbo bike could do with some 540s to replace the SPD pedals currently on there.

I only thought as I need to replace my pedals and cleats soon, you could always flog the pedals and recoup the price of the cleats

Check they come with cleats - some of the cheaper offerings of pedals dont always come with cleats.

They split them and sell seperatly - hence why Absolute can flog the cleats for £12.50 and the pedals for £20

I might get some pannier bags as well for the Peugeot as well.

Looks great the softshell but hope colour will not be just black! Got the Lidl Gilet recently so might not indulge in another purchase....some of the sunglasses look okay too!

The pedals and cleats turned up today. Looks like they were one pack flogged off as two separate items as the pedals don't come with cleats and the bag is cut open. I've contacted Absolute Cycles asking where the other cleats are. If they're splitting packs then the pedals are going back. Wiggle are flogging the pedals WITH cleats for a pound or so more.

    .

Though, I always get the impression with Sports Pursuit that, by the time the stuff turns up, we'll be into a whole different season. Fair?

Hmm, stuff I've ordered has come swiftly. Maybe I've always ordered towards the end of a sale though. Arm warmers, leg warmers and knee warmers are great for long rides in any season though, I get bored of telling people they need them.

I have the last release of these in black and silver. Can't comment on them as the previous version I've got refuse to wear out or even look shabby (original in foreground, new unused ones behind). Probably done 12000 miles in them and aside from being a little heavy I can't really fault them. The current ones look worse but, on the bright side, they don't look as bad as the hideous plasticky shoes Sidi make
