I think with those I would have had the same problem. Got the Impacts in the end as they seem to shield the toe area pretty well.

    Anyway, Sunday for me. Somewhere.

I've been using these for about a year and still happy very with them - v good for the price imo. There isn't a velcro flap to cover the laces, but I just tie them short. So far they have never caught on anything . . .

Should be on for SH on Sunday if I can get a few things sorted tomorrow (transport, bike repairs), but won't know for sure until tomorrow afternoon . . .

Sounds like a roadie ride then, I want to get the brakes sorted too, especially if I'm trying to keep up with Richard :D

Not too optimistic about the bike but I'll have a look in the morning - have you arranged to go with Long?

Bashguard arrived but not the bleed kit.
Think the guard will need longer bolts as it's pretty fat.

I'll see how I go in the morning and text him then - will let you know.
    Otherwise go for 1.30.

We normally average about 4 a year  but may do a few more now winter is coming in rapidly. Also not the fastest rides, I probably average 17-18mph. Although I do race the roadies up Holmbury on our MTB rides so I may have improved.

    Saturday=Rain. Sunday=Sun.

Train your dead legs well, early November trip is coming soon. I will do few night rides for that.

Hmm, rain turned up last night, pretty heavy by the sound of it as it woke me up. Sunny out now. Still Metcheck says SU.gif for Sunday morning.

But we're no fair weather riders. Rain, mud, bring it on! :D (just make it nice and sunny before I go out the door. Once I'm out, I'm committed).

So, what's been decided for this November trip? Was it Scotland in the end?
  • was hammering it down earlier through the night, nice and sunny now though.

Yeah , night riding , bring it on ! :P

  • Sorry to anyone who was going to ride Sat.

I'm ill, went for ride with njee in week and struggled a bit for breath( although with Njee even on top of my game he would make my breathing difficult, far to quick up for me :D:D) , now have full on chesty cough and sore throat, so giving it a miss this weekend.

I am however free next weekend so def be out whichever day most people are riding.

Any decision on rendevous ? If it's somewhere out of the ordinary , i need a little time to study maps !

    See you tomorrow

I knew that Njee is impressive. But there is 1 climb on Pitch hill, that even mighty singlespeeder clown front wheel HT Gregsd couldn't clear. I almost cleared it myself last time, but being a Popstar I've failed. Challenge awaits.

My other HT s headset is wrecked ATM, needs fixing.

  • went out for a quick ride today and isn't too bad yet. though another night of heavy rain will make for slippery funs. Also where will we be meeting? for me somewhere closer to coldharbour/leith hill way would be easier for me to ride to.

10ish is good for me. How about starting Coldharbour/Wescott way for a change and make life easier for MrB?
But preferably not Redlands as it will be like a swamp.

Mighty climb you say?! The hardest way onto Pitch I know is up the roots from the windmill car park.
  • Come on gents , we've agreed on a when , now how about where ?
