    2. School at the weekend!

I'm not stupid - shipped him of to military academy haha.

It's a boarding school, although he's only a day boarder, they all have to go to school on Saturday morning. On the bright side, his 'subject' is mountain biking, so we get to go for a ride, if not a very exciting one normally. I'm a designated 'adult', and spend a lot of time ranting at the kids as they ride like idiots - don't look at intersections etc. Most of them don't like me much.
Every now and again they have a parade on Sunday, but I make sure I miss those. Bagpipes and the like - pretty awful.
thel33ter generally just marches and stands around looking miserable anyway.
Although below is cycling team (4 in the middle) that won their section of the Tour Series in 2009 and 2010. He still looks miserable though - must be the pants.

Better one - getting the spoils on the podium - don't think they got to keep the girls though

Standing next to pretty girls in cycling shorts.... good.
Standing next to pretty girls in cycling shorts, wearing cycling shorts.... less so.
    :D

Good job. Way more interesting than any school I went to, the only events they held on Saturdays were detentions...

It's not really a military school - just wear funny clothes for parades. The rest of the time they look almost normal.

Hey cooldad, I was a day pupil at a boarding school as well, it was a right laugh except that you had compulsory study Mon-Fri from 6-9pm!

Was not sure what the ride status is this weekend? Anyone up for a merry stroll in SH Sat or Sunday?

I was in the rugby team for a match against them cause no one else could be bother to show up, the food was fantastic.

We lost, but were a man down, and I was there, so it was more like two men down

My foot is ready to go even if the toe is not quite right, but Five Tens arrived which should keep it all in place for a ride. So I'm good for Sat or Sun.

Think Richard is up for some "knarl" on Saturday. A little out of shape myself so not sure if if knarl is what I need or more of a merry stroll.

So anyway, yeah, something is up for the weekend. As usual, it will probably be sorted by Friday.

Doing the Gorrick this weekend, but I hope it stays like this, was up there today and the conditions were perfect, much drier than the weekend, barely found a puddle!

    Hi Kenny,

I was just asking about a merry stroll 'cos I'm returning from injury so I thought the first ride back should not be too mental as I'll be on a heavily adjusted rigid 29er. I think Richard and popstar are up for a gnarl session on Sat but for me this may be a tad too intense due to my fragile arms (thanks popstar)

@ DK, Popstar, Richard and Naveed Can't do Saturday but I'm ok for Sunday. How about DK shows us some of the Ceasars whatever bits, or Tunnel Hill for a change of scenery?
Might not be Knarrrrly enough for Popstart and Richard though.
Or SH or Swinley if easier.
@Mr B1989 welocome to join in.

  • Anybody fancy going to the premiere of the Life Cycles movie (also showing the Vast movie to)?

It's on nov thurs 18th at Prince Charles Cinema in leicester square

Still healing according to the docs so prob not out for another 6 weeks now
  • Sunday's probably the better day for me but might be able to do saturday, what sort of time you thinking.
Want to have a go at a bit of knarl but still a bit tentative on that sort of stuff.
Happy to do SH, swinley or tunnell, keep the posts going and will keep checking or PM.
    Cheers

Don't really know enough of Caesars other than a long XC loop, but happy to explore. Would like to find more DHilly bits and singletrack. Tunnel Hill I know a little bit more and good place for change of scenery, especially the little northshore-ish area, though Porridgepot area I've yet to go back to since our initial explore.

Though I'm happy with SH and have been missing it for a while. Wouldn't mind some Winterfold/Pitch stuff. Not doing those climbs each week is making me unfit!

Though I could do both days :D. Hoping it's not too much for the foot. Richards knarly stuff might be a bit much, don't know until I start riding on it.

I can make it only on Sunday, as Saturday working. Could even conjure up some entertainment program with some challenge thrown inn. Have got some weird ideas, but they are good fun. Will make lazy pedal faster.
    What could have been (Video)

I'll choose not put too much stake into someone's opinion who is admittingly terrible though

    Me
    popstar,
    DK
    Supraman
    Naveed
    Pieman
    Plaisir
    Mr_B1989
    Naveed

I'd prefer not too early - it's the only day I get to lie in a bit.

    10ish again?

Where? Peaslake or closer to Coldharbour if Mr_B1989 doesn't drive.

Or what is Popstar's weird idea?
