Wet wet wet. SBI of 8, 9 in places. To be fair, trails like Seagull are riding fine, puddles but otherwise business as usual. The loamy parts of the forest are muddy though. Expect lots of gloop, but all rideable if you have the right tyres.

Was fine, bit damp but quite rideable.
    Been raining ever since though...

  • Yeah I would be. Haven't ridden in there yet and would like to see what it's all about before the changes.
Still mostly riding Minley, Hawley and Ceasers Camp so a change of scenery would be good.

Anything else going on? 9 was way too early for me.

Looks a bit damp out there.

It was seriously slimy. Good ride though. And Sandy Hill was sick into a river.

Swinley ride tomorrow, 9.30 from the wooden hut near the Go Ape entrance. Looks like a biggish group. Social Xmas ride so hopefully I can keep up.

Missed a good one then if people were throwing up :D

Lazy yesterday, lazy today. Just pushing myself out the door and will have a little explore around Newlands Corner as it's close and all I'll have time for.

The annoying bit was he was actually sick as in not well, and I still couldn't keep up.
Fishing should be interesting in that spot next year though.

May be possible. Not much going on. Probably about Sat & Sun too.

Well, all I did round Newlands was play on the jumps. Nice practice though. Seemed to be some big film crew up there too. Not sure what for.

Yeah. I'll be around the weekend as well, just want to get out at least one of the days during the week as well. We may manage tomorrow, then Tues I have to get thel33ter to the airport as he's spending Xmas in sunnier climes, Wed I plan to be really lazy, spend the day in bed eating bacon.

I alerted the film crew - they were there to film your gnarrly skillllllz. Or possibly from You've Been Framed waiting for you to stack it.

I'm planning to ride in Swinley this Saturday as long as the weather isn't too dire. Current forecast: heavy rain til 12 then light rain after. Plan to set off about 10/10.30 from Go Ape gate.

Mmmmmmm, might have to think about that. Trouble is half of Swinley is closed at the moment. I was planning a ride on Saturday but might go to Caesars or Minley instead.

Hi cooldad hope you're well. I forgot they're trail-building in SF so might give Minley a whirl, never tried it though.

Anyone know a good place to park around Minley?

Fyi, keep an eye out for bikes nicked from Pedal & Spoke in Peaslake!
SO....I got that sickening phone call this morning. We have had a few bikes stolen from Peaslake shop. Tallboy LTc STRADA WHEELS (v.unique) black and orange rev forks medium, Blur TRC medium fulcrum wheels - spoke missing on rear, Liteville 301 frame large, Moda finale road bike. ALL MY BIKES!! Someone on strava was pissed off. Insurance companies and police are aware. Please post throughout forums and if you thing anything suspicious please let me know, Cheers, H

@DK - yeah saw that - were they Howards own bikes? THta's what it sounded like.

I'm going to try and get out Thursday as well as Saturday.

@Vista - the parking area for Fleet Pond is just round the corner, but I don't know the area well, and anm rubbish st directions anyway, so hopefully someone useful will skive off work.

Easiest parking for Minley is the roundabout just off A30 at the top of minley hill. Head into the forest on the main trail, go down 250m or so til there's a wider junction part. Turn left, watch out for trail diving off to your right. Enjoy.
