The Gorrick ride is down at the bottom, so shouldn't really effect our normal bits. I was thinking just a Swinley pootle tonmorrow to give things a chance to drain, and then decide on Monday.I don't do smileys.

Swinley Monday? What sorta time? Me 'n Dan will be out somewhere, although I think Swinley was our last two rides so not sure if it'll be there. And then again who cares, maybe it will be.0

Have joined the Southern MTB forum in the last couple of days. Nice bunch of guys over there and a nicely laid out forum.
Very quiet ATM as it's only a month old but looks good. Jump over a have a look.

Thoughts for me...
Sat - Surrey Hills

One or the other or both. Surrey Hills maybe Leith and/or Holmbury.
All undecided so far (as always with me).0 -

I'm planning on going to Aston to help with some digging Sunday morning but if it's wet there probably won't ride so I might come and join you guys at Swinley but I suppose it'll be later on depending on how it goes. Also my Stumpy is out of action at the moment so will be on my Status and therefore will only do Clubhouse runs and around that area. Anyway, I'll let you guys know nearer the time.0 -
School off, so I'm on either day.I don't do smileys.

Hi Deadkenny
Perhaps me and my friend could join you Tomorrow.
That is if you agree to have two slower guys around.
Is the phone number you've sent me about 6 months ago just before we meet in Swinley still active?deadkenny wrote:Saturday 11am Peaslake, Walking Bottom car park. Is the plan.
Sunday - ?Lapierre Spicy 316 2011, No lockout, 2x9 gears0 -
Yeah, no problem. It'll be slow going anyway with the mud I bet. Not that I'm super speedy anyway.
And yeah, number is the same.0 -

I'm up for the Wales trip still but it all depends on my Stumpy being back in action. I gave the back wheel to a bloke at work to true for me and he's taking his time with it unfortunately. I'm thinking I'll have it back by then and I can probably hurry him up if necessary (although I'll feel a bit rude because he's doing me a favour). What are you thinking re places to ride and stay? I take it we'd be driving up on Friday eve and coming back Sunday?0 -
Hi,
I can confirm. We're going to be there by 11am. I'll call you if something caused delay ( traffic or something ).

Wales (nearly forgot!) - Up the Friday, back Sunday is fine. Or Monday even. Just the tricky bit of where to stay, at relatively short notice. I'm open on where to ride. All I've done round there so far is CYB and Penmachno. Not fussed about Penmachno, CYB would be nice again though, but Marin and/or Llandegla would like to check out.
@Sobol - see you there. It's certain I won't be on time anyway , and usually be waiting for others depending on traffic, trains, broken bikes that need fixing, etc.
And just a reminder, the road from the A3 (from Ripley / Send / Woking) to the A25 is closed. Just in case you're going that way.0 -
I've found a good cottage in Bala (13 miles from CYB) that looks a good base. We can get it from friday to Monday. 4 dbl beds, £390 self catered. So that's less than £100 per room for three nights. Sounds like a plan? We can drive to lots of place from there. Who's in? I can do much on Friday, and need to get back to collect my wife & daughter from airport on Monday, but I'll be up for at least 2 nights I reckon.A Flock of Birds

I don't think I can do it now unfortunately, had a few unexpected things to pay for last week, one being paying for my car to be released after being towed by the council. They were totally in the wrong and I should get the money back but not for a while I guess. It was £250! Anyway sorry to pull out so late. Will be up for future trips though.0 -
Some others might be interested but short notice really too. Worth postponing?0

Hello, based in Walton On Thames (Surrey) and I am looking for a beginners ride out out somwhere.
I'm still starting out, only been riding now for 5ish weeks, my fitness isn't great, I'm still overweight but very keen
Would like to ride with some likeminded people who don't mind a slowcoach and frequent stops to catch breathe!
I don't have much experience with trails and XC etc So still learning.
I'm pedalling as fast as I can!0 -

Well the weather looks pretty gash, so maybe not worth the long haul anyway. I will therefore be up for 2 full days of riding locally... Surrey Hills anyone? Sat or Sun (or both) not fussed.A Flock of Birds

Your best bet to start is probably Swinley. Its about 30mins / 20 Miles from Walton on Thames, 2 miles off J3 of the M3. You can get there easily by train from Staines too if no car option is available. Watch out for rides there at the weekend posted on this thread. We ride with all sorts, slow and fast. No-one gets left behind. Lost however  (Slight losing rider incident this weekend! - Did you guys ever find him?)A Flock of Birds

Yeah he got back to the carpark about the same time as we did. Must have been that stealthy black bike, go lost in the shadows.
Pretty shoddy show though. As the most adult adult there I am deeply ashamed.
For the weekend - school on Saturday, but up for Sunday - SH is good, hopefully the weather's not toooo bad.I don't do smileys.
