Did you find out where he went wrong? Turned left at the end of Seagull 1 maybe?
Note to self - get new key rings - 9 speed and 10 speed this time maybe!A Flock of Birds

Well the weather looks pretty gash, so maybe not worth the long haul anyway. I will therefore be up for 2 full days of riding locally... Surrey Hills anyone? Sat or Sun (or both) not fussed.
I'm in for 2 days riding as well but if it's SH Sunday, which sounds good, then I'll probably try to go somewhere DH on Sat, maybe Rogate if the weather is rubbish but Aston if it's nice.cooldad wrote:For the weekend - school on Saturday, but up for Sunday - SH is good, hopefully the weather's not toooo bad.
See you Sunday.0 -

Your best bet to start is probably Swinley. Its about 30mins / 20 Miles from Walton on Thames, 2 miles off J3 of the M3. You can get there easily by train from Staines too if no car option is available. Watch out for rides there at the weekend posted on this thread. We ride with all sorts, slow and fast. No-one gets left behind. Lost however  (Slight losing rider incident this weekend! - Did you guys ever find him?)[/quote]
Cool what time do they normally start for meeting up? As I have my kids til 8.30am Saturday but after that all weekend off to ride and fall offI'm pedalling as fast as I can!0 -
We normall meet between 10-11 for a 2-3hr ride. I suspect we'll be meeting up this Saturday... Keep an eye out.A Flock of Birds

Nice one.
Am I on the right track for postcode for my GPS? (RG12 7QW (The Look Out))I'm pedalling as fast as I can!0 -

Nice one thanks for confirming that.
One other question please. I have a lid, and also knee and elbow pads. I got them for a good price, but they are Race Face knee/shin and elbow/forearm pads. I worked on the basis that a stack is a stack, no matter how painful and as I am getting older value my skin and bones.
Would you recommend wearing both, or just the knee/shin guards?I'm pedalling as fast as I can!0 -
I'd personally not recommend either. Not saying that they are no good... but because its mainly XC and you'll probably overheat and have restricted movement with all that extra padding on.A Flock of Birds

OK thanks for the advice. Save's me turning up looking like a StormTrooperI'm pedalling as fast as I can!0

OK, so in the interest of forward planning.... 11 at the lookout on Saturday? Probably a 3 hr ride, maybe a beer after for all interested.
Sunday - Walking Bottom Car park at the same time? Does that suit all concerned?A Flock of Birds

I wear knee pads most the time, mostly just to look like I fit in with the gnarly kids
Well, keeps the knees warm. My thought was knees are expensive if you're self employed. Can't say if the pads have helped but have landed on them many times.
Not essential though for Swinley. Depends what you do really. Certainly possible to have big stacks there if you want.0 -
I'm up for 11am Saturday or if no go then Sunday instead.I'm pedalling as fast as I can!0

The Sunday ride I mentioned is in Surrey Hills, just to clarify. Sat will be at Swinley. You're welcome to come to both of course, but just wanting to check!A Flock of Birds

Think I'll stick to one day ride for now
I'll opt for SwinleyI'm pedalling as fast as I can!0 -
ooh, I might be free Sunday after all. If so, super up for a ride.0
-
Going to head down to Swinley about 4.30ish later today. I'm just going to stick to the Clubhouse area though as I'll be on my Status. Give me a shout if you fancy a session on those runs
Ps if it starts hammering it down I'm likely to sack it off! Hopefully the sun will stay out for the afternoon.0 -
The last thing this board needs is yet another contract employee telling us all about how he's going riding this afternoon while the rest of us work.... V. Jealous. Weather is looking ominous here but still ok right now - big clouds rolling by with just a few drops of rain. Have fun.A Flock of Birds

Thanks I will. Hopefully the weather will hold, it's actually sunny here in London now!0 -

How dare you!
Great ride today, pissed it down as I was driving there then got sunny as I started riding then pissed it down and hailed and then got sunny again :shock:0 -
I speak only the truth.
I'd forgotten about this this weekend. Kind of arranged with Bartimaeus to go down for their Grand Opening.

Was even considering camping for the weekend. Although with the weather I might reconsider that.I don't do smileys.

Hmm, good point. Barely an hour down the A3 for me though, can't see the need for camping.0

Another weekend option - Tunnel Hill/Frith Hill session, Sunday 10.30. MTBB guys arranging this one.
Wondering if that means the army are no longer taking pot shots at mountain bikers and we can ride it again.0 -
We'd love to see you down at QE this weekend, and the forecast is pretty good for Saturday with the trails drying out pretty well down here at the moment. But the offer of a guided tour still stands if you want to come down a different weekend.
Quite a few of our crew seem to have signed up for the Enduro in the evening (4 hour XC endurance race, I think). I will be giving that a miss myself. On Sunday I'm going for the demo day - forecast is light showers all day at the moment, so I'm hoping that means there will be no queues for the popular bikes. Ah. Plans for Sunday seem to be SH. Or maybe Tunnel Hill. Hmm, all complicated again, many different ideas, here and on FB.0

Im easy either way. I have the CC DB Air on the blur now, so looking forward to some kind of genuinely hilly action if I can. DK - We could head to Tunnel Hill after Swinley on Sat if you fancied doubling up.A Flock of Birds
