Is the "toeclip overlap" a ruddy nightmare on this thing????

Looking at a titanium bike with guards and was thinking of a September, but maybe this thing is the way forward?...

I've not noticed any toe overlap, but I think I'd get it with any bike I ride due to the size being a 54cm.

Who corners with their feet dead level anyway? :)

Who turns the bars (enough for toe encounters) to steer? Toe overlap is only an issue at really low speed, where you tend not to lean the bike but do a lot more steering and tend to have your weight centered with feet level.
  • I've just noticed these on another website, I think they will be like Marmite, I however like Marmite very much.

I think the new Sabbath's look ace, better any other mainstream Ti. Anyway I am well happy with my Sabbath Silk Road, it rides amazingly well, looks good IMO (at least better than the Planet X's, Enigma's and VN's I have seen) and it was crazy cheap :)

OMG I've just been sick looking at those curvey Sabbaths. Cummon lads lets have some proper design and engineering and use straight tubes, not fashion tubes.

This post has potentially consequences for my bank account!

I'm not sure on the new Sabbaths though, I don't think they look too bad but I'm sure they'll date and isn't the whole point of splashing out on Ti that it's a long term investment?

For what its worth, as original poster...

I bought a Sabbath Silk Road Pro with SRAM Force/Ksyrium elites.

Not quite the winter bike, more the new all year round bike!

Big thanks to all those that helped, and a big nod to Sabbath and their customer service!!

    I will.....

Wondering whether to fit SKS race blades, or crud road guards, or any other option. I know some have their preference but has anyone actually got / know of a silk road pro and what fits best?
Tyres are 23" Conti 4 seasons.

It arrives end of the week....

(and to the ti owners here, have you bought ti bottle cages or steel? I see some pics with classic metal frames. I am not going for carbon as I just dont like it paired with metal frames. Prefer Nitto or the King ti ones (£££))

Get the crud ones, race blades are rubbish in comparison.

Tacx Tao in silver and black
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I would have got them if I didn't have two plastic bontrager ones spare...

Looks like the sks race blades I have had under my desk all year may have to be swapped for the cruddies.
Have you had both then, Nap? Or are you just basing that on your ownership of the cruds?

Plastic... sounds frightfully common. At 34g for the Tao's, the 28g King ti's are even lighter - but 4 times the price!

Yes, have raceblades, they were a pain in th'ar5e and didn't give anywhere near as much coverage as the cruds. In fact, I couldn't even get the front raceblade to fit properly...

They now reside in the garage gathering dust.

Trip down evans with my blades then, for a swap (they have not been opened). Hope the packaging hasn't change when I claim I have bought them the week before and want to do an exchange!

I'm rambling now, trying to fill in the time until the bike arrives!

    oh...

I have seen the Tacx plaggy bottle cage things advocated before.

Why, though? That is 2 recom's here for use on the ti bike, and no reasons as to why you thing a lump of plastic is better than a classic metal one. Do they not look cheapo? (And is there any reason to avoid metal, cos I have 2 from the PX).

    Curious....

I use Tacx Taos on all my bikes. I've got black ones on my Ti frame, because that's what came off my Nero Corsa, Silver ones look cheap though anyway.

They hold the bottle well, don't rattle, allow easy taking out of the bottle, not stupidly priced, look good (silver looks good on Ti frame)

I use SKS full mudguards. If you check back through this thread, you will find that Spanielssons Silk Road Pro has full 'guards, too. Looks good in the photo as well

I have a pair of VN Ti bottle cages on my bike. I wont even try to justify the price, but, I have carbon cages on the carbon bike, alluminium on my alluminium frame, so, no brainer, Ti for the Ti frame...
Get Ti... You know you want too

I havegot the LifeLine (Wiggle) Ti bottles on my Silk Road. They look great to be honest but they are not the best cages I've had. I used to own some Tacx Taos but I wasn't too impressed with them as they didn't fit my CamelBak bottles.

I haven't got any mudguards on my Silk Road but if I had to put some I would go for the Crud ones.

Because they're all you need for a cage, simple as that. they hold all my bottles fine without rattling, they're not expensive, they look good on any frame etc etc. You can spend silly money on a bottle cage believe me, but they all do the same job, just some do it better than others.

Looks good, but there really isn't enough clearance for full 'guards without chopping a lot of them away.

Nice Scrumple, but you've got to change those bottle cages
Apart from that, it's looking good, mate.
