Absolutely staggering performance!!!!! Bravo Cancellara...one of the best TT's and the best TT'er ever?

Well, I suppose he can only beat what's in front of him; we'll never know what would have happened if Mick Rogers was there.

How many PTP points do I get for 22nd?

Not bothering to finish properly will hurt Brad's starting position next year....

For the other riders it must be like being thrown to the lions having to TT against Cancellera. It's almost not fair to let him compete against them :D. How demoralising must it be for the rest of the worlds top TTers having to line up against him?

No medal anyway? Wouldn't have beat Martin?

He'd just reduced the gap to Martin from 12 seconds to 3 seconds between the two previous checks when the mechanical occurred.

  • Cancellera had it won from the very first turn of his cranks - he looked in a totally different universe right from the first 5 seconds. Amazing.

Yes, I suspect if you cut him half loads of green stuff would spill all over the pavement. Awesome !!!

You don't often see someone riding the last 300 yards of a time trial with their hands in the air.

A surprise ending followed by a 7km warm down. Character-building stuff.

    Very predictable.

Shocking when it looks like the guy in 2nd is slow

I'm sure all the Vino fans are pleased with his ride.

i thought Dave Harmon was gonna cry on air there when he saw Wiggins' misfortune, he had a mechanical Dave they happen to the best of them no need to get all watery eyed.

Cancellara's average speed was 32.1875mph - astounding, inhuman even!

Disappointed with Wiggo's half-hearted attempt at a bike fling, too. He needs to ask Millar for some tips.
  • KING FABIAN

Breathtaking, regardless of how predictable it was. The best time tiraller ever.

Why he hasn't gone for the hour record yet I don't know. He has to do it at some point.

    What was Wiggos mechanical then?

Report on front page just says, front mech issues, which is odd one, there isn't that much that can go wrong, and what does can normally be fixed pretty sharp-ish.

  • Too one sided for words. Ridiculous power.
Cancellara sits up 200m from the line.
It's a pity he left it that late!

a trad shifter, easy to fix. An electronic shifter, not quite so easy...

  • EBH well off the pace. Tony Martin excellent.

Has EBH much form in the longer TTs? I know he's good at the shorter ones but OTOH he doesnt do that well in the longer ones - he came 24th in the Giro long TT
  • Bad luck Brad, but on the other hand ....

11 David Mc Cann (Ireland) 0:03:40.61

    Well done brilliant performance !!
.. who said that, internet forum people ?

Very dominant. By catching Larsson, he gave the Swede a target. Initially Larsson looked set to lose a lot of time but used Cancellara to up his game. Or I wonder if there was any Saxo co-operation in terms of pacing and time setting? Probably not.

    Maybe, but then in 06 he was 5th, in 07 6th in 08 21st.
