fair play wiggins is burying himself for 3rd
  • Larsson has got the silver wrapped up. Great ride from him too.
  • I thought it odd as well. Even if Wiggins uses up a lot of energy in the TT today he's surely still more likely to make it to the end of the race than most of the British squad?

Hard to believe that Cancellara was riding like a sack of hammers earlier in the year. Talk about rounding into form!

The way he's riding, I'm not writing Canc off for the RR.
    Unlikely, but not impossible.

    Gutted for Wiggo.
  • Is that a reason to throw that wonderful bike like that?!
You could see the Swiss guy protesting at this treatment behind :)

He had an illness of some sort. A real one, as opposed to the Mick Rogers type
  • Cancellara is awesome today and I know its been talked about before, but..... love to see him on the track in the IP and how about the hour record. I know its a different enviroment, but i'd pay good money to watch him.
    Ciao Marco

Payback for messing up Cav's medal at the Olympics ;)

    Shimano? Noooooo!
Let's close our eyes and see what happens
  • Is it too late to put Wiggo into the RR? Bet he's got some frustration to work off after today...could make for a good ride!

I know it would be bad luck for whoever he replaces but surely British Cycling can justify it after his TDF performance?

  • It's just unbelievable what Cancellara did.
    Amazing win...

He's been training for the TT only. Short, intense rides - not long road race style rides. He just wouldn't be correctly prepared for it. Still would do better than most of the GB team though.

Poor Zirbel. Sitting there like a plum for 3 hours, then gets booted all the way off the podium in the space of 90 seconds.

Well, I suppose he can only beat what's in front of him; we'll never know what would have happened if Mick Rogers was there.

Cancellara just cruises over the line with his hands in the air. Leisurely finish. Gotta love Spartacus. What a ride. Never seen anything like it.
