I wonder how far he can go in the sport? Obviously he's got the explosiveness that's required for the Classics but with his time trialling I wonder if he'll ever be a GC contender. He's got to be the most exciting young rider around at the moment, he's all action and has backed that up with high quality results this season.0

Not so funny then eh?
Not laughing so much now huh?Half man, Half bike0 -

Can he have a shot at the Vuelta? (Not saying to win, but just to see how well he can go). Hard to see him getting free reign at a GT with a few riders to support him while Cav is going for loads of stage wins on the same team - so that might rule out a shot at the GC in the Giro and Tour.Le Blaireau (1)0 -
He's leaving Colombia at the end of the season though isn't he?0

I wondered about that - had a vague memory of Daniel and Jeff mentioning that in a recent podcast.Le Blaireau (1)0

He's not doing the Vuelta.

What was up with Wiggo today?

"Brit Bradley Wiggins (Garmin-Slipstream) started off as a favourite and set the fastest time at the 5.9-kilometre time check, 7:02. As the rain started, however, Wiggins eased off the pace and turned off the course just prior to the finish without speaking to the press."

Was in Amersfoort watching the stage - Wiggins came past like a train on the way out, but just stopped pedaling just after the intermediate split. Rain wasn't even that bad....0 -
Ridgerider's scaring me now. Anyone seen Thomas Dekker lately? I think he's under Ridgerider's new patio for bringing shame on Rabobank :shock:0

Thought about it, but didn't fancy another wrist slapping from the forum fixing lot.
Oh well....
He certainly did throw the odd toy out of the pram, over his "moist" course.
Riding off to the hotel, with 500 metres to go and get an abandoned by your name.....
Better to have finished, IMO."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

I didn't know he had done this. Abandonning a 7 day race 500m before the end so that you do not get a classification is really poor show. Not impressive at all. Glad he is no where near my favourite riders.Contador is the Greatest0 -
I don't know - he was 10 min down on GC and had taken it easy the day before, with the final TT in mind. He had the fastest intermediate split, but when the rain started falling, he would have realised he wasn't going to go win. You have to take into account his mindset, bearing all that in mind.
Anyway - can it with 500 m to go or sit up and cruise over the line - seems like six of one and half a dozen of the other to me.Le Blaireau (1)0 -
