Hey i ride in Swinley Forest as its my local and i dont see enough of us ladies out there! Let me know when someone goes and i will try to tag along . Just come back from there actually and in need of a good clean up its been well muddy lol.

I am in near Wokingham too (well Finchampstead). I am just starting out and learning around the local woods but hopefully venturing into Swinley forset soon. I think I am doing alright, but now sure what the terrain around Swinley forest is really like?

Do you reccomend any areas around Finchampstead, or Crowthorne to prepare myself on or should I just get stuck in? Would be nice to meet someone up in Swinley Forest who knows it so they can point out where might not be suitable!

I'd love to hook up with some people in Swinley. Technically, I'm pretty good now, but physically I'm a bit rubbish, so if you're either a newbie, unfit or exceptionally patient, then we should hook up!

Funny but i am more near Barkham than Wokingham, comes actually under Finchampstead lol. Well there is something for everybody at Swinley Forest and i have only been on the bike for a short while myself, and only due to my son insisting in riding rather than walking, teenagers hey lol. So anyway i would say head out there. We could meet up one day and i could show you some of the routes i know and you can decide what to do so you feel comfy about the whole thing. i discover more every time i go and its def worth talking to other riders to find more tracks. Let me know.

Ohhh sounds like we could have a small group forming! I am reasonably fit, but a bit out of shape at the momment.

Shall we set a date? I work all week so can only do weekends (plus I will have to check if my husband is off work so he can look after our son)

I think I am free the next couple of weekends if anyone fancies it?

Weekends are good for me, too. I can't do anything until September, I'm afraid as hubby is off to Scotland on business for two weeks and I'm going to join him at the weekend.

I am VERY interested in a September ride, though

Count me in for a get together! I'm based in reading but my boyfriend lives right on the edge of Bracknell Forest, about a 10 minute pedal from the Lookout car park.... Went out yesterday (nice and muddy!) and did 2.5 hours with 3 very fit/fast boys and I'm shattered today! Loved every second of it though, as always...!

I'm from north Wales. It would be ace to ride with someone other than the boyfriend. Everyone who has posted here are all really far away...

My boyfriend and I do Llandegla everyweekend. Last Saturday we went to the Marin trail in betws y coed it was awsome hehe but very hard!!!

If anyone is ever in North Wales give me a shout!

My OH and I ride Swinley or Crowthorne most weekends. If anyone else has a significantly faster significant other and wants to meet up for a ride, let me know. We've been searching for riding buddies for months!

I've got a group that I ride out regularly with, howver they're all men! Not that I have a problem with that and I do manage to keep up witht the front of the ride, just it would be nice to have some female company rather than listen to them prattle on! ha ha!

I'm in Hull (East Yorks) so if there is anyone around and fancies meeting up for a ride give us a shout, or if you want to join in with the rest of us too check out the rides section and 'hull and surrounding area' forum.

May well be riding Swinley this weekend - depends if my boyfriend has to work. As for being not too shabby.... Let's put it this way; I never have to get off the bike on the ups or downs (even if my a**e spends most of the time resting on the back wheel!). That is unless I'm thrown off of course, which is a whole other story!

if you ever want a spin around Epsom common or ox shot then let me know i can do most Saturday mornings and it's not technical but it's good in building up speed and build up your physical side

Hooking up sounds great. There's another chickie what joins us for rides on Oxshott Heath. You're right that it's not that technical (though there are some fun bits) but it is really good for just riding about and building up some stamina.

As a long time weights fan, I always find cardio a bit of a chore so I'm keen to improve that way.


I'm busy for a few weeks, but how about something around the Bank Holiday weekend? I'll see if my other friend is around, too.

I am fairly new to the forum and have been riding on and off for a while. At the moment I am in West Berks an it would be great to meet some more girls to ride with. I am exploring local places with OS map but it's getting boring to ride on my own. Occasionally I would go to Swinley Forest (anyone want to hook up?) and recently discovered little Mtb trail near Swindon. From time to time I visit Welsh centers on weekends (loving Cwm Carn and Afan) usually have a space in the car and on a bike rack.
Let me know if there is anyone living around Reading/Newbury who would like to meet up for a ride
