Going in to a meeting in 10 mins, what MORON arranges a 2 hour meeting to take place during MY LUNCHTIME?
I've just had a meeting over lunchtime too. Maybe it was the same one?

    Is your name Sharon?

I had a dream last night about Sarah Beeny. In my dream, she wondered if the off topic thread was in danger of becoming on-topic...

Several pints of your finest Magners outside a suitably positioned hostelry, it's what balmy Friday evenings were made for.

Two years ago I went on holiday and came home to find that a very small thistle which had been growing in my lawn had grown to well over one foot high due to some very warm weather whilst i'd been away.

I cut it down and have always kept my lawn regularly mown however this year I went away for two weeks again and the grass was long overdue a trim. Anyway, upon returning TWO thistles had appeared approximately 2 feet to the right of where the original one had been.

Anyway, they are now in my way when I want to walk along my paving slabs to get to my shed however due to constant wet weather i've been unable to cut the grass since I returned three weeks ago and the thistles are still there and are at an awkward height now where they jag the inside of your legs if you try and hop over them whilst wearing shorts. This is now starting to spoil my enjoyment of getting my bike out of my shed and also putting it away again at the end of a ride.

So, are thistles weeds? or should I cultivate them?

I gave my mother a viking ship fridge magnet today. She said "thank you dear" and put it with the others on her freezer.

Lobotomies (used mainly from the 1930s to 1950s to treat a wide range of severe disorders, including schizophrenia, clinical depression, and various anxiety disorders, as well as people who were considered a nuisance by demonstrating behavior characterized as, for example, "moodiness" or "youthful defiance") have now fallen out of use, as doctors use various drugs and psychological therapies to treat mental illnesses.

Has anyone placed a bet on the chances of Cavendish winning green in next year's TdF yet, and what odds did you get?

Speaking of green, I also heard that avocados are good for preventing cramp. Is anyone else able to back this up?

I would try them but I can't get past cider and kebabs.

Definitely! Not all whisky is of the same quality. The Caolia 16 years old and 18 years old are quite different. Bushmills, an Irish whisky, is an excellent choice if the budget is tight and you enjoy a smooth easy to drink tipple. But, if you enjoy a peaty, smoky whisky then I would recommend Lagavulin, but not just any Lagavulin. I am not a big fan of their lesser malts, even the 16 years old does not get me excited. No, if you are looking for one of the best Lagavulins available then I suggest their Distillers edition. It is not overly priced, around 40 pounds at an off licence in Marlow.

Give it a try but remember do not drink and ride.
