When people talk about Lance's 'family' I have to say it does confuse me.

Are we talking about Kristin Richard? Sheryl Crow? Tory Burch? Kate Hudson? Anna Hansen?

A good role model for relationships and family life...

And that picture, of course, proves.......???
  • Armstrong was treated surprisingly respectfully in the Spanish media during the Tour. The TV commentators always gave him credit when it was due. The only time I heard them sound pissed off was during the podium ceremony, because of his miserable long face and inability to get over his obvious bitterness towards Contador. At that point Perico Delgado commented that if standing on the podium was going to be such a pain, Armstrong should've lost some time on the Ventoux.
Yes, it would've been great to have an ecstatic Wiggins there instead.

Frenchie, it's Lance, his kids and his mum, as the only woman truly good enough for him (not insinuating any bango playing antics here BTW). Merely that daddy didn't love him or mummy and it's always been him and mom against the world. You see he has to better than everyone else to prove he is actually worthy of his dad's love, even if he says he doesn't want it.

    That is SOOOOOOOO lame.

I guess you're still with the first person you ever dated?

And if you should be one of the 50% of the population that actually gets divorced in your lifetime, I guess you're never allowed to date again!

So I am guessing you admire Lance's conquests.

He has five publicized knotches on his belt. Taking them like Cav's wins:

I couldn't care less what your opinions are on marriage, dating, divorce and the like. His actions do not impress me and are not ideal for his kids.

I prefer the 7 notches he has on his bike reflecting his 7 Tour wins.

I couldn't care less who he dates. I just think you're a child for focussing on his personal life (which is impossible to keep out of the spotlight). I can see you're an expert on cycling. I didn't realize you were also an expert on child sociology and psychology.

Its about the Lance. Its always been about the Lance. And the sucking up of the Versus crew.OMG.Money talks ,dont it??The true leader of Astana came through.Nice job Alberto

Alberto is a great talent. A gifted athelete.

But he showed only that. No leadership. No appreciation for those around him.

When Lance was talking about next year he said he sees some vulnerabilites in him and I think that issue is just what he's talking about.

Not to mention he's not the brightest bulb on the tree.

Yes, LA will have to start pretty early with the mind games for next year. Let's be honest; it didn't work for '09.

AC showed he could handle the pressure when it counted. Stage 15 to Verbier; LA went AWOL and lost any chance of a Tour win.

BTW jackhammer; just remember these few simple facts:

    - LA will be a year older, and a year further past his prime
    - AC, the Schlecks, Nibali, Kreuziger and Co. will all be stronger riders in '09.

At least you've got 12 months to start working on your LA excuses.

I'm not talking mind games. A professional shouldn't be vulnerable to mind games. I'm taking road tactics and race sense

Lance completely made his point. Second, third? Hardly matters to him and nobody should be shocked that Alberto was better. He hardly needs excuses. He did great for an aging ex champion out of the sport 4 years.

I think it's a credit to him and his determination for his cause that he's coming back one more time knowing he has the same young legs to go up against.

Here is something you can chew on and I am pretty sure you didn't know.

Contador has been with his girlfriend for nine years. She was 15 and he was 17 when they met.

Read up about Contador. Not only is his performance in cycling worthy of much note, respect and admiration, his story, activities and lifestyle off the bike is inspiring.

I agree with Pokerface, this is a witch hunt. Like the guy/ don't like the guy but please dont try to justify your choice by trawling the internet for reasons to hate him, says more about you than him in my opinion.

You Lance lovers cannot falter me. Your opinions cannot change mine. Bring me facts and we can talk. Bring me attacks and you have failed.

Rob, if you don't like comments about Lance or any other rider or topic, there is a simple way around this: do not click onto the thread.

As for you gazzaputt, given you Lance's flowery pink bike, your opinions are clearly going to be totally at odds with mine. Save yourself the time and don't bother to comment on mine as I couldn't care less what you write.

So this is all about your hero worship of AC? Up on a pedestal is he? Just so you know I find hero worship of people, simply because they are sports stars, really, really weird.
Sort of like people obsessed with movie stars. Seems, at the very least, unhealthy.

Dennis I don't know what hero worship is. I have never followed celebrity stuff and all that rubbish. Whether you believe it or not doesn't bother me.

For Contador, it is clear why I like him a lot. My last point was mentionned simply to contrast Lance with Contador, not because I actively seek out such information.

That I know such information doesn't mean I seek it - it means I am informed. For your information it was written about in a respected cycling blog in which several points of great interest were raised about Contador.

If I don't reply for a while then it is only because I am out riding. Some of you should try it sometime.

Ah, but I do enjoy reading folks well structured critique and well informed and constructed comments, but your views appear to be bordering on obsession (I use the word "bordering".......), I'm only thinking of you frenchie  .

Not a Lance lover FWIW, I neither love nor hate him or your man Contador for that matter.

I'll continue reading the comments but if you don't like folk taking an opposing view to yours perhaps you should consider giving it a miss?

I like Contador a lot too. I really do. I think he is a very talented rider - and will possibly be better than Lance and rank amongst the greats one day. He is well on his way.

It's difficult to take a snapshot in time and judge his future career based on it. His current form shows that he has the skills to go on to dominate cycling for many years to come. But he also has weaknesses.

I just think it's absolute childish behaviour to say he is better than Lance or anyone else BASED ON HIS PERSONAL LIFE.

    Leave it on the road.

Wife???? Girlfriend, I think. In either case when you can't live with someone, well, you can't live with them. Also who left who?

Right, stop trying to offer a balanced view, Lance is a b*astard, a wasp on bike if you will, and the sooner we all agree, the sooner we can go for a bike ride with frenchie.

Why don't you share some of them, then, instead of completely irrelevant stuff about his love life. For all my dislike of Lance, I can honestly say that I would never think to criticise him about who he chooses to spend his time with away from cycling, but then I don't read Heat magazine either.

Thats total bullshit, unless you've been married and divorced I don not see how you can possibly comment. Maybe his relationship with no1 (had they stayed together) would have been detrimental to his kids growing up? No-one knows what goes on behind closed doors.

It's not. It IS however, illegal for a 17 year old to have sex with a 15 year old. At least in the UK.
