Think its only Oscar Freire there - could be wrong though.

The Le Tour website states that Cav is in the group.... in fact there is no gruppeto... all back together behind with the exception of Kern and Hushovd who are behind

That group doesn't look 168 riders big to me.

Just saw Menchov passing round water bottles. Denis Menchov as Freire's domestique in a mountain stage :)

They just indicate the most significant riders of a group like the grupetto. That is, the polka and green jersey wearers.... The bus will have a lot more passengers still

Still a big gap though - 2:29 ? - plenty of work still to do - maybe Pelizotti gets this one.

    What did they say?

A little rant about how the French anti-doping people were targeting Lance and it was distinctly unfair. Claimed it was spoiling the race etc etc, and Paul was amazed he'd been tested three times in 48hrs.

Apparently they've lost a lot of support because they keep testing him

Yes, but so is Van Hummel for instance.
    1. It just isn't 168 riders there, much smaller group; 2.Tour tickers have always named only most significant riders of a group; 3.the whole peloton together with only Hushovd and Kern dropped is pretty improbable; 4. rabobank and Caisse wouldn't be working this hard if Cav was there, 5.etc., 6.etc. the ticker is incorrect

And I dare say all Phil & Paul are doing are quoting from LA's twitter.

Meh. Not surprising. They are his chief cheerleaders, and it'll play well with the Versus audience.

Maybe if the other riders twittered each time they got tested, instead of just getting on with it and accepting it as part of the job...

Funny thing is LA states on twitter he's had 40 doping controls etc...

"Knock knock. Another antidoping control. Seems excessive but I'm not complaining. This is a good thing. I like good things times 40."

So if LA isn't complaining, Paul & Phil should drop it. It obviously isn't an issue,

Now the bunch looks even smaller from the helicopter shot. 50-60 riders max.

Liquigas is trying to disrupt the chase, Caisse and Rabobank don't like that

Cav is there; he's hiding in Fredrigo's right nostril.

He should win by a nose.

BTW, Cavendish is going to have to pull out some amazing work on the next two stages if he wants the green jersey.
