Just been told:
I can't ride men's bikes - you're always leaning just that little bit further forward, so all your weight goes where ... weight didn't ought to go.

    It's an issue.

Scoop-neck dresses don't look quite the same in the mirror when you're standing up as they do when you're hunched over riding along.

Especially when you go as damn fast as I do.

Speaking of this did anyone else laugh at some of the BBC's camera shots during the Murray game last night. There was one lingering slo-mo of a rther well endowed young lady bouncing up and down in glee. Even McEnroe was rendered speechless. But being the beeb there was something for the ladies as well - a rather fat bloke bouncing his moobs and jowls, again all in slo mo. Sometimes I love BBC HD sometimes not so much!

  • I passed a young lady going the other way from me about a month ago, and the view was frankly spectacular. Her top was quite low cut and she was at most a pothole away from causing a nasty accident. Quite made my week. :D

Only later did I find out that it was my eldest's teacher

You're all missing the point, although the tangent you lot followed is an agreeable one!

The lady quoted at the beginning is talking about a part of her anatomy that wasn't designed for load bearing. Comprendé? No, think leaning forward & saddles....

So all these ladies experimenting with the "ram air scoop effect" are doing it in spite of the discomfort? The devilish minxes!

I would wager that this ram-air scoop effect isn't particularly aerodynamically efficient either. I will have to study this in far greater detail than I have to-date. Now, I just need to find a wind-tunnel and some young laydees to step-forward to volunteer. It's all in the name of pushing-back those scientific boundaries!

not so much any aerodynamic effects but my wife claims that low top + ample frontage means people let her out at junctions etc...

    Top-notch thread hi-jack! :)

...if I can remember, it started with some guff about equal heights for ladies frames or suchlike nonsense, but it has moved into an entirely more interesting direction.

...now lets see, if we take ambient air temperature multiply that by wind direction and speed of travel... ...factor in the height of the cobblestones... ...we should be able to calculate escape velocity! 8)

Only if you apply some kind of weighting factor, for the... erm... weighting. Plus the natural jiggleability.
