Zaskar I suggest a quick google search on hayley  bars have been ordered through work at lbs, do should be here Tuesday hopefully :D

been running a set of pro atherton grips and they have been crap, worn completely so the odi's are much better grips and I know they work :)

the whole bikes stupidly muddy atm, i havent cleaned it since the bank holiday weekend

i dropped the stem by 5mm and cut another 10mm off the steerer and it rides so much nicer, really flickable and the bars are fantastic, as are the grips, but this is how its staying for a while, shall be ordering my new frame in two weeks :D

    whyte 146 :D

im off to the cycle show with work next week, so ill be putting my order in then. the xc120 is being left as it is, so it'll be a complete new build, the works full build is abit to light (and stupidly heavy on the wallet come replacement time) for my liking with all the xx dripping off it, and the s isnt blingy enough, so im building my own :)

will probably have full X0, fox floats, hope brakes and wheels and easton bars and stem, but i cant decide wether to go for a reverb seatpost or not :?

ill hang the frame on the wall until i can finish it though
  • Bikes looking real good mate, and sounds like a nice little set up your thinking of for the Whyte. I can't wait to see pictures of that when done as well. The Whyte's look absolutely amazing.

well the planned 146 build, has been put on hold till next february/march, when the frames become available to buy, absolutely gutted tbh, and it means that this needs some work to make it last through the winter, as the chainrings are three years old, the casstte 4 and the chain 2 1/2

so ive ordered a 12-36 9 speed cassette and will be ordering some TA specialites chainrings and going for a double chainset, should give a similar rnage a 2x10 setup, so i can get a feel longterm of what its like, just gotta decide what colour to have, silver or black :?: or i could go for blackspire rings in anodised red??

    thoughts??? :)

TA Chinook rings are fine, think they come in red too if you want it to look awful!

I used to use 28/40 with an 11-34, worked really well.

some parts of my local ride are pretty steep, and whilst im pretty fit, im no xc racer, so i think the ratios should be perfect for around, decided to go for silver with red chainring bolts, will post pics when its all set up :)

forgot to mention im waiting for a white madison flux to come from my MBUK subscription, mag has arrived but no saddle so far :(

absolutely over the moon with its riding atm, plently light enough for quick climbing, slack enough for thrashing, i got an app for my ipod that measures it at 67.5 degrees so nice and stable, but it still climbs like a billy goat on crack :D

I had some of those chainrings - they do look nice. I only bought mine as an emergency "turn my DH bike into a XC bike" for my old guiding job - they were expensive but the only ones in resort that fitted my crank.

not had chance to try it out properly yet, but from a quick spin round the block it seems pretty good, ill report back after my weekend at dalby.

interesting you mention the wheels, im fed up of the rear shimano hub coming loose, so there is a possibility of new wheels in the not too distant future .....weighed it today as well, its 25.52lbs, which i think is pretty good for a bike built like this, but there is so much potential to drop it by atleast a pound, could save a good 600g on wheels and tyres by going tubeless with a new wheelset :D this thing is starting to turn into a test bed for what i put on the 146 when it finally arrives
  • Nice bike bro. The black white and red colour scheme looks a treat.
