looking good bob, likin the blue frame, "safe" is good, i was just abit bored of black and when those wheels came up i couldnt resist, i think im done with the red bits for now, might get some red crank bolts, jockey wheels, bottle cage bolts etc, and im thnkin about white bars and stem too 8)0 -
ordered my nobby nics so they should be here in the next few days, got a few more ideas now, im thinkin that white would complement the wheels and decals, so had a look at the items below, all avaiable in white 8)

what do you reckon??? after these i really think its gonna be finished for deffo ....... maybe0 -
If you're willing to spend £50 on a bars, then consider the Spank Spike 777 bars.
The will be a bit heavier than the EA70, 280g to 318g, but the letters are huge and look very nice.

The rest looks good.0 -
Or FSA gravity lite bars-only £20 at on one, normally retail at £70, just 260 grams, but strong enough for freeride- i have them and they are brilliant! http://www.on-one-shop.co.uk/acatalog/i ... CGRCW.html
Your build is awesome btw0 -
and this stem? http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Gravity%20By%20 ... _30774.htm0

Nice frame, but not liking those rims...white would have worked much better in my opinion.0
-
nice as they are james they arent white
i know what you mean jeast i think they're marmite. i love them but i can understand why somepeople dont, just found a crc voucher i had fogotten about so watch this space0 -
fitted new tyres today, got to weigh it at work and it came out about 25.5lbs, and the bike was pretty dirty,so cleaned up i guess its about 25ish. i reckon its sorted now major kit wise, but i will get a ew seatpost in the near future and a white charge spoon.
still havent cut the steerer tho :oops:0 -
pics of new tyres have to say they are really good and the bike accelerates so much easier now, the weight loss really makes a diiference.
however, i have broken a brake lever
all is good though cos i've got replacements being sent to me as i type :twisted:0 -
Looks like your chain is rusty. and i think that happened to my brake lever too- has the clamp split?0
-
nahh its just dirty , run out of wd40 tho so its abit dry
the clamp has split, tried to find a replacement but couldnt find one, so ive bought some hope brakes to replace them0 -

And you work in a bike shop? WD40 is the complete wrong thing to put on your chain, it drives grease out of things0 -

i usually use finish line lube after a dry ride, but seems abit pointless in this weather because it all gets washed off in five minutes. besides it seems to work, ive been running a kmc chain now for over a year and its still runnig fine.0 -
and im more on the customer side of things rather the workshop tbh0
-
NOOO to the WD40 it is especially fine and gets rid of oil and stuff.
Get some proper stuff on it for the sake of your bike.
Lovely bike though, you thought about maybe getting a shorter stem and moving your saddle back just a little? Could sharpen steering and keeps all the reach in check.0 -
lol i think ive started a war with this whole wd40 thing
ive thought about a shorter stem smiley, but tbh it just feels so good atm im loathed to changing anything cockpit wise fitted my new brakes tho they need bleeding, and i need to fit the new rotors, so ill post some pics tomorrow0 -
a very nice looking bike, love the colours and the bargin rims go a treat. Always been a fan of the maxlight after a test ride locally. Yours seems to have less decals which is a plus as a few other frame models are a bit overkill.0

new pics and upgrades been running the hope brakes for a few weeks now, well impressed with the power and got them for a great price off her so thanks to
chris for a great deal and good service
i think im done upgrading for now, gonna start saving again for a new bike0 -

jay12 wrote:realy nice bike. what sort of bike you thinking of getting?
something like an orange 5 or a zesty most likely, depends what we get in at work. i love the hardtail, but i just fancy some rear sus to lessen the harshness abit. im tempted to do another custom buold tho so ill have to see.0 -
Fine! You need red chainring bolts...0
