simple, take the @ and "?action=view&current=" out!!

Basically, if you right click on a picture on the web and click on properties, you can find the adress of the image, copy and paste it in between and tags, and hey presto

Pretty nice bike, you need to clean it though, it's worse than mine usually is!

oh, and you should consider cutting down your fork's steerer tube, looks a bit long and dangerous!

well, ive finally got round to giving my steed a much needed clean up and blinging up, just fitted a set of 2010 revelation races and have been running some white goodridge cables for a few months, bit dark to take some pics so will post some up tomorrow.

next on the list are new wheels, shorter stem, new seatpost, new mechs and possibly new brakes :D good job i work in my LBS :lol:

    new pics of the upgrades.

the forks are amazing, the best ive ever used, barring super expensive fox's, the cables are brilliant, havent touched them in nearly 6 months,

overall im pretty chuffed with it atm, still think it needs som more blinging up, new wheels etc, i reckon some more white kit woukld look ace on it :D
  • Looks ace! Considering it's age, you've really got it looking brand new again!

I will echo YeeHaa's (What happened to him?) message from June that the steerer could lose an inch or so as it looks a bit like a death trap.

    But it looks good :D

new wheels on the way :D custom red dt swiss rims and black spoke. think i might upgrade the rear at some point to a superstar superleggera instead of the standard shimano one and im looking at going tubeless and ditching 2 rings at the front. need a white spoon now to match better with the wheels. aiming to get the weight down to around 25lbs :D ill post some more pics when the wheels come :)

Like it! Been looking on the web/mags to find a frame suitable for longer travel forks, and this seems to be one-of-not-too-many.

Why do all the XC frames/bikes have 100mm travel ?
This was ok in 1980 - 90's, but with "real" trails everywhere, it's too short for me anyway.
( A few butt-over-tit experiences have "reinforced" this, LOL.)

So, I'm considering this as an option, but have also read that the Ltd Ed Zaskar could take up to 5in forks. Would love one if they're still available.

I like my Norco Bigfoot, but the rear end is Haaaarrrrrssshhh....
With a Thudbuster it's ok sitting, but on rougher/ledged descents, it tends to throw you a bit.
  • Hey Lawman,

Nice bike, looks better clean

How do you find the tyres, & do they wear well?

    Cheers :D

the tyres are the best ive ever had. period. they've lasted well over a year and a half and have done a fir few road miles as well, grip like turd to a carpet in most conditions and are just generally superb. they are abit heavy tho at around 800g each, but punctures are rare so its a good compromise :)

new wheels arrived today, absolute bargain imo

rear hub makes a nice clicky noice, not too loud, but just loud enough imo, and about 200g lighter than my current set :D the rear hub is a custom shimano so when it it inevittably needs to be serviced ill swap it for a superstar superleggera :D

what hubs are fitted to those new wheels?
  • lawman
    lawman Posts: 6,868
cheers xtreem im really chuffed with them, a bargain at 120 quid imo

sheeps the hubs are a spesh hi low front and a custom shimano rear. the wheels were taken off a 2010 stupmy comp ht.

getting some nobby nics next so more weight will be lost and when the weather improves ill swith to single ring at the front :D

i was just wondering how come they are lighter than your xt/717 combo as the spesh hubs are basicly deore and the rims are heavier than 717s too. 200 g is a fair chunk of weight to save.

tbh i have no idea lol the spokes are better on the spesh wheels and the front is only 28 hole rather than 32, which is where alot of the saving is from. as i said before ill swap the rear hub for a superstar or si9milar to drop abit more weight when the deores need servicing.

cheers :D it looks even better now the wheels are on, and first ride out tomorrow will be good, plus ive just found out the LBS where i work can order in the tyres so ill save a nice chunk of dosh to go towards a new white saddle :D
  • Looks great :D

Looks much better muddied up a bit though IMHO. Like a real MTB

well its neither really clean nor really dirty now  im loving its looks tbh and the ride is superb, forgot to mention that dt RWS skewer has really tightened up the forks, and as i said before its a real blast to ride now, even more so than before, hoping to drop the weight abit more with a set of nobby nics, and will get round to cutting the steerer down this week  after this i reckon its about sorted :D

the seat is abit of a love/hate thing but im swapping it for a white one this week. and wahts wrong with the pedals???? they're frickin awesome imo
  • I was just gonna post and ask for updated piccies.

The new wheels really tart up the bike (in a good way) 8)

I too have the same pedals for my new build, IMO they look really nice, but also as strong as houses :D
