Probably - he was into kids don't forget.

I'm off to bed and will check the grief in the morning!

    Never tried this trolling before!
  • Thats cool Mark_K. It's your opinion so i cannot argue with that. :)

The way I see it is that he was forced to grow up to quickly due to being so famous from such a young age. As a reuslt he missed his childhood and kind of lived the childhood he never had by spending time with children. Likewise, this is just my opnion as well :)

Not sure we'll ever know the truth when there's that much money involved but I'm damn sure i wouldn't want to leave my kids alone with him  Well saying that i would now

Nor would I, if i had kids... Definatly not a healthy relationship for either the kid or for MJ.

So to sum up i THINK he was a weirdo that liked kids in the wrong ways and for those reasons i don't particularly like him or what he stands for :)

But does that mean he is any less of a human being?

Some people have an element about themsleves that prodices thius starngeness. With him it was the fact he never had the chance to grow up therefore he was constantly looking for that youth he never had. I think a lot of of the comments that will emerge, yours included, are insensitive to someone who is not yet cold, and he is a damn site more talented than the rest of us put together.

    *Attempts to avoid controversy*

Whether you liked him or not he was one of the biggest names of the past 30 years, I think only abba are on par in terms of everyone knowing the words!

Great loss to music, whether a great loss to humanity is a different question...

    I feel it, when I sorrow most;
    'Tis better to have loved and lost;
Than never to have loved at all."

Yes he was a VERY talented entertainer and yes he had a hard upbringing but does that excuse his behavior ?

There are a loads of people with a worse upbringing than MJ but they don't behave like he did. I am afraid I have little sympathy for those who claim they have been dealt a poor hand, especially when they say if from the comfort of their palacial mansions. Sure ,he had talent, but that doesn't make him a good person, or a role model for others. RIP but I will not be at the funeral.
I have only two things to say to that; Bo***cks

Fkin hell Mark. We get the fkin message ok.

Forget the controversy of his life and realise he made a huge contribution to music. He was known as the King of Pop for a good reason. His influence was massive, he changed the face of music, he made 3 of the best albums in the history of music, inspired countless people and other musicians and has been one of the planets biggest entertainers since the age of 11.

Hell, there's a million jokes and puns you can make about his tragic life but how about giving him some credit for the music he made? Lets see if you can do that?

I neevr liked his music - and to be honest - completely baffled by his extreme popularity. But then most of his fans appear to be freaks or lunatics so maybe that's not too surprising. the freaks have to have someone too.

There are rumours that the Cardiac arrest was brought about by MJ tripping over a child's pram. A spokesperson was quoted as saying that further details will be announced but at the moment we shouldn't blame it on the buggy.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're not a big music fan, Porgy. I'd maybe expect to find in your cd collection...

    Travis - The Man Who
U2 - Joshua Tree and Greatest Hits
    Queen - Greatest Hits
Coldplay - Rush of Blood to the Head
    Brian Adams - Greatest Hits

And for the day you feel like being a bit flighty...

    Led Zeppelin - Greatest Hits

    Course. I maybe completely wrong.

I only like his very early stuff but also fail to see why he was so popular to the point of hysteria!

You are completely wrong - I have none of those records and yet strangely I seem to have several thousand albums.

In fact I would have though a Michael Jackson fan would be more likely to have one or more of the albums you name.

I have owned three Michael Jackosn albums over the years, but given them all away as I never listened to them - or wanted to.

Quincy Jones on the other hand is a f.ucking genius. And Jackson owed him everything.

You may not like his music, but he was so good that if a song of his came on the radio or was on in a night club, you would klnow the words, and hell, you may even sing along, all be it under your breath.

I kind of wondered that - I have just recently obtained all their studio albums - having rejected them for years (post punk me) - now I'm re-evaluating them - lots of it is excellent tbh.

but I don;t have the Greatest Hits.

So you're obviously a music fan then, Porgy. But you're 'completely baffled by his extreme popularity'? That doesn't make sense to me as surely you can see that he made perfect pop records which embedded themselves in popular culture? Just like Abba and the Beatles, you may not like the music but you have to recognise how and why it was popular and important?

Nothing wrong with Led Zep. Just that I used them as an example of a rock mediocrity....with an edge. Not my bag, but of course I recognise their contribution.

Its important to recongise the difference between bad music and music that isn't to your taste. Michael Jackson obviously isn't to your taste but you can recognise its worth...no?
