Rock and roll.
Leeky gas better destroy everyone.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Yep, that's what I'm tuning in to see. Hopefully.0
-
It's on Eurosport 2, remember. Don't sit there like a muppet watching tennis while the Giro is on the next channel up
Although... Sharapova...0 -
British Eurosport 2 coverage shouldn't be far behind (scheduled to start at 14.30 GMT).
No guarantees though with Eurosport, we could just as easily be watching 20 minutes worth of motorbike crashes instead of bike racing.0 -
Mmmm....Sharapova....ah, I mean todays stage should be interesting..0

Di Luca's home territory.
This looks unbelievable:Contador is the Greatest0 -
At finish line:
Wind 17k/h
Temp 19C
Humidity 51%Contador is the Greatest0 -
A commentator, although good generally, just said:
"Menchov and Di Luca will look to unleash a greater tremor than the earthquake."
Hmmm...they should be a bit more careful.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Merckx's first Grio win in 1967 was the Blockhaus. What a way to start!Contador is the Greatest0

I see they have highlighted the 2 steeper sections...13% and 11.5%.
It was refreshing to see the other day Froombe wobbling across the road going up the 16% section to the finish...
Glad to know pro's can do that just like me
anyway...back to today's stage.....0 -

VOECKLER
They may not do much in the overall but the French have a lot of attacking riders.

Most breakaways this Giro I think.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Frenchfighter - Rodney Marsh is an ex footballer (and former Sky pundit) who has a habit of putting his foot in it and making insensitive comments....
also - re length...23.5k I thought was an average-ish climb for the pros, especially in relation to Alpine / Pyreneeian ones0 -

Rodney Marsh was a British football pundit sacked for making a crass joke about the Boxing Day tsunami live on air.0 -
It is longer than most climbs hench why the stage is only 79km long I guess.
Thanks both for the info on RM.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Most breakaways this Giro I think.
The Giro has a classification for this. The Giro has a classification for everything. Most kilometres spent in a breakaway:
Trofeo Fuga Cervelo Classification
1 Mauro Facci (Ita) Quick Step 364 pts
2 Björn Schröder (Ger) Team Milram 314
3 Mikhail Ignatiev (Rus) Team Katusha 289
4 Vladimir Isaichev (Rus) Xacobeo Galicia 273
5 Leonardo Scarselli (Ita) ISD 2630 -
Nice I didn't know they had that. Visconti doesn't feature I see, however in pure number of times, regardless of kms, he has gone the most.Contador is the Greatest0

Voeckler attacks a lot, but they rarely stick.0 -
Only 26 withdrawals so far. Garmin has the most with four.

interesting, where did you hear that?0 -
Do they 'sit up' anymore when people crash?0
-
Mark - the commentator mentionned it. Didn't see him involved at all and wouldn't have thought Lampre would want to lose him so seems a bit harsh.Contador is the Greatest0

Menchov rode the Blockhause yesterday and said he drank 8-9 litres!!! That is 16-18 bottles which seems like a bit much.
He said he saw Pellizotti and Basso on the way but no Di Luca. But then Di Luca says he has ridden it hundreds of times.
Finish line is covered with cloud atm.Contador is the Greatest0 -
What's the point in rest days if the riders just ride a stage anyway?0
