Well, now it is down to the good people of Pitlochry, Aberfeldy, Rannoch, Tummel Bridge and Fortingall to show the true quality of their Highland hospitality in 2010.

I won't be there, three times is enough for me, but it doesn't seem to have put anyone else off: the event has sold out for the first time! :D

One of the chief protagonist for the campaign to keep the roads open is Norman Beedie DRSAM LRAM ARCM, http://tinyurl.com/r4rjxr for more details. Hi lives on the route (PH15 2LE) and clearly expects space and government funding for the arts but not the sports. A few letters to him might be appropriate to show the strength of feeling?

I know this is nearly 3 years late but I was looking up info on the etape route and found this thread and re-read out of boredom. Imagine my surprise when I stumble upon Mr. Beedies name and his opinion. I work with him regularly when he conducts various orchestras around Dundee and I look forward to politely asking him a few questions, a few years on, about his opinions 8)

For the last three years, over the Etape weekend my wife and I have visited the Festival Theatre and it is apparent to us that there is significant shift in enthusiasm from local people in support of this event.

Last year we were firmly told that we should ignore the views of the ACRE pressure group as they do not represent those of the community; however I now see that ACRE is now seriously upsetting this community. See: http://www.thecourier.co.uk/News/Perths ... donia.html

I would be inclined to let sleeping dogs lie now on this issue.
