Oh flippin eck, I've done it again - just tried on a Spesh 2D helmet. Currently have a Giro Encinal which works perfectly well but could vent better and has an adjustment system at the back that slightly catches on my jacket so I sometines get "stuck" turning my head.

The Spesh is very tasty, fits perfectly and I must now get one.

Damn damn damn.

And I'm eyeing up a bling saddle too.

Damn and damn again.

All this talk about SPuDs has made me want to try a different set!
But i want something that'll go with the bike and is a bit bling so the price is getting steeper :(

Don't you just hate the feeling of trying something/finding something that you don't reaaaalllyyyy need.... but WANT!!!

I've lost lots of cash that way!
  • lol im the same, i have a helmet that works and fits ok but i love the specialized 2d/s works ones

Think im gonna get the silence lotto one at the weekend 8)

Been there done that etc. Somehow I've gone full circle and now prefer the custom/ghetto* look.

Not sure if this is the same sorta thing, but my DH bikes is wearing FAR too many white parts, but there's something so bling about a hopelessly impractical colour.

I've been looking for a new helmet for a while. My current spesh is pretty old and I managed to lose the visor in some overhanging foliage at the weekend, so now I have a (flimsy) excuse to finally go and buy one!

Hoping our car will die soon too. I'm bored of it but it does a brilliant job of everything (1.9CDTi 150bhp Astra Estate - bought new in 2005, now almost four years old). Dammit!

    I want/need a 335d Touring.

I loved my Scandal til I testrode the Soul, then when I got home I went out to the garage and I could hardly bear to look at it. "It's not you Scandal, it's me- there's someone else, and she's got a one degree tighter seat-tube."

The route to perfect gear happiness is to never try anything else or read a review, ever. I'd probably still be happily riding my Raleigh Strika otherwise.

I think my problem is (well one of them) that I really like my bike and have decided I'll keep it and upgrade it rather than get a new one. So therefore I'm "saving" money and am justified in going a bit mad on it!

Not at all Matt, the 335d touring is quite possibly the most excellent all rounder in existence right now.

Shinor - that really doesn't help!

I'll get one soon - even Mrs Matt has agreed it's the right "next car" for us - just a matter if timing. Have you got one?

a beemer matt! is that so you can do all the beemer related things on the motorway/dualcarriage way and get away with it!
personally, i'd look at the merc's, more classy less chavy appeal!! (beemers are The chav car at the mo! even more so than the Saxo/corsa!!!) would suit the area you live in better too! 8)

anyways, i cant really talk much about un-needed bike bling can i!!
klcnc jockey wheels are one of those dont need But So desperately Want items! same as colour coding your seat clamp! or buying hope skewers over your standard ones! they all do the job but some just do it So much more classily!! (back to the merc theme here!) and they make you feel good when people look at your bike!

Oh, dont break your helmet until you have Definately got the one you want reserved (or paid for and left in the shop convieniently!) as sods law states you'll 'Accidentally' break yours then go for a new one to find they dont have any left!! - did that when i was younger over a wallet i had seen! I desperately wanted a 'Hot Tuna' grey wallet with the pink fish but my current one was fine! so a little tugging at the coin bits resulted in wallet near death and pops agreeing to let me buy a new one, cue mucho dissapointment when got to the shop only to find it had gone up and i didnt have enough money!

Oh, and there is never an excuse for more Carbon, Everyone needs some carbon on a bike!

And yes, Hope skewers and seat clamps (anodized, naturally), KCNC jockey wheels, CrankBro's wheelset, or better yet, Industry 9 wheels, ** ** 2010 equipment, ALREADY!!!

None of which I have, but all of which I lust after

Bighaz - cool! I'm keeping half an eye on 335i Tourings too just in case.
    286bhp and over 420lbs/ft for the 335d - I LIKE it!

Miss the proper oomph of my R32 Golf - and the 335d has a lot more yet looks more subtle.

Timmo - Mercs just don't handle and the equivalent - C320CDI Estate - is a bit dull and lot slower.

No but it's on my shortlist, I need a new car and my current one has a cream leather interior, which as you can imagine isn't the most practical now I have a baby and a dog :)

I *should* pay off some of the mortgage and get a cheapo Subaru or Volvo.....

Not keen on the latest RS6 - it weighs over 2 tonnes!!!! Even with a million bhp, that's too heavy.

Not all about bhp though - have had lots of fun in weedy engined but good handling cars in the past.

Although plenty of bhp IS rather fun...

see, if ytour looking for a car like that then speed and handling isnt going to be high on the priorities list imo! hence why i'd take the merc over the bmw every time, Never found a good driving position in any of the beemers we had at work, even the X5's, they are simply not my cup of tea!
the beemer estate isnt far of 2 tonne though is it??

the R32 isnt actually any quicker then the current Gti you know! just sounds it! and they aint light either!!

oi think really, you need something sensible and an Absolute out and out Toy car for the odd mental blast! keep the astra as its not worth a lot any more and somehting like an aerial atom or the like! 8) Stanley Would Love it!

Anyways! whats this bike talk on a car forum!:wink::D

Just bought that new helmet

Got a bell sweep xc. Not the colour I wanted, but for £60 on CRC, I can't complain!

    Wooo semi-necessary bling!
