Thing is though mate, I was thinking of doing the route to come up that baby....
Depends if you want speed or technical descent, the one I was going to come down is alot more technical. So, it would probably be harder to ride up than the incline.
I suppose we can have a poll and see if the majority votes for speed over technical...... :?:0 -
This is the route we could be doing on Saturday 8th. Should take around 3hrs riding time and then depending how many breaks we have, probably 4hrs in all.
The terrain is mostly gravel to loose stones and rocks. Couple of technical descents and a fast flowing one, a few hard but doable ascents depending on fitness.

lmao......its a long way down aint it.....like gigsmaster said mate,it all depends on if eveyone wants tech descents or just pure speed....we normally try to get a bit of both in the rides we do,and normally try to get the decents tech or fast with a few sweeping bends in them......and we never race to the top or bottom as everyone has diff riding abilities0 -

Rory T = You not joining us, if you need a rear wheel you can borrow the one off my hardtail.
2pm is fine however, it's market day in Humber carpark (1st sunday of every month) it finishes a 12pm -1pm and packs away and is gone fairly quick. I just think 2:30 - 3 might be better for those coming in cars, saying that I have been through just after 1 and you wouldn't have know it had been on.
Afraid Im gonna have to give this one a miss, you remember me saying my bike is stored at my other halfs parent's shed? well they have gone on their holz for two weeks and took the keys with em "swinging on the shed handle" suppose I could borrow that wheel and try to unicycle the route0 -

Cheers for the ride everyone. Had alot of fun, although i was about knacked when i got home! lol. Nice to meet everyone too, i'll look forward to the next one
Mega Avalanche looks amazing btw, i've been tempted for a few months to give it a go. Altern you might need more travel to do it though, most people do it on full on Downhill bikes. But you can just hang about, enjoy it and take some pics instead of trying to get down first. lol.
Barkey, nice pics mate didn't realise the sky as that clear yesturday. lol.
Biggus86: Heres the route into the back end of Dalby for the train station in Seamer, www.bikehike.co.uk/mapview.php?id=14229 . Its about 11-12miles though, where i've ended it is where you can join the red route from Birkley Gate.Yorkshire Man living in Somerset

You should be able to download them at up to 1024x768 or I can email you them.
The second mega vid gives better idea of the biggest challenge. which is trying not to crash into other riders at the start, also its quite funny after 3min.
For Wed agree a time and I'll just turn up.0 -
